I think his business interests are ok as long as he does not touch it, he has teams running stuff for him and they tick along pretty well i think. It will of course (the trump organization) get a lot of news exclusives and build up it's news media network probably as it has stuff for that in NY i think. That will hit other news networks a fair bit possibly, not sure.

He owns a lot of property and that can't really fail him as it is areas that are only getting more expensive i.e. NYC, he has a lot of floor space to rent/sell, that alone would see you a very rich man.

I also don't agree that he is a racist or a homophobe but I think you're taking this thread off course.

This is undoubtedly true which makes it strange that these clever people who scream racist can't see it, white bloke concerned about immigration and the affects on jobs is racist, Hispanic bloke concerned for the exact same reason is voting out of self interest. Maybe people vote for different reasons and until people stop making generalisations and deal with the issues this nonsense will continue.

But why is that industry uncompetitive? Because other countries have much cheaper labour costs is generally why. And so manufacturers from countries with higher cost bases move their operations to those other countries and export the goods they manufacture there to the higher cost economies, where they can sell them cheap but still make more profit than if they were making them in the original country.

But the result is that jobs are lost in those high wage economies and that results in the double whammy of lower tax revenues and higher social security costs. Whereas import tariffs help maintain those jobs that would have been lost and do so at no cost to the tariff-levying country.

Thanks,i can't get away from my thought that he will be cutting his own companies taxes and rates,we'll see i guess,i hope we never have such a vile person running our lives here
