No douche. I've lived those experiences. They aren't unique. This is especially common in airports.

No one would ask an Asian woman at a bar in Soho if she spoke English. And if someone did, the context and approach may welll suggest racism. But at an airport where lots of internationals are cross connecting? This is Not out of the realms possiblity. I'm sorry.

Humans try to connect and fail often.. that too is as American as apple pie.

No I didn't defend it. The first guy was a douchebag and a racist. Said as much. But the other experiences on its face weren't.

But the attitude of victimhood that is now so pervasive has made this woman and and her friend/director/whatever, assume the worst possible intent and take the worst possible reading of events. :(

And no, the cop is not even remotely an example of racism. Simply correcting the idiocy she and her friend assumed: Asking in an airport if you speak English and any other languages, is simply an attempt to connect... Not a racist incident... Sorry!

I once thought you were just misunderstood or perhaps had some sort of social deficit that made it difficult for you to parse the complexities of interpersonal dynamics. And that afforded you a modicum of my patience as I (and so many others) attempted to counsel and educate you on the true realities of the world outside of your very narrow, privileged, bigoted perception.

But, as you make ridiculous rapey excuse after ridiculous rapey excuse for demeaning, bigoted, destructive behaviour perpetrated by others, I understand now that you see the world in the lens of what maintains your power, influence, and superiority over others. Anyone that is wronged by you or others like you are just playing the “victim” and really just need to move on or be told, endlessly, why they are wrong until they assume your position.

And you aren’t even particularly good at it. It’s obvious, and tiring, and in the end has the exact opposite effect of what I assume is your intention (otherwise, what in the world are you even doing?).

You remind me of a quote, the origin of which escapes me:

I am sure this post won’t last long, and there may be other consequences to my posting it, but I am at a place in my life that I no longer have time to humour bigoted morons that care more for their station than the health, happiness, and prosperity of others.

The desperation level on all fronts among Trump, his enablers, his supporters and the poster(s) here who defend what they all defend escalates at the hour approaches when America rises up a repudiates all of them for what they are, how they are and who they are. This was the way it was always going to be. They are cornered rats — starving, desperate, out of options, unable to outrun the clock or find help, and they are acting as all cornered rats do.

It will get worse tomorrow, worse on Election Day, and still worse after the inevitable post-election legal challenges-cum-riots that surely await.
