I am dismayed by Trumps lack of knowledge regarding the King who was born in Tupelo Mississippi, but then again his cognitive functions have been off for a while.

different era though then with no 24hr rolling news - televised live press conferences and addresses to the nation were reserved for really dire events - it was probably realised how poorly they could come across ( remember the impromptu one outside the Treasury on ERM night? ) and what with the Birmingham Pub Bombings, Hyde Park, M62 Bus Bombing, Manchester etc etc would have highlighted how helpless they were in anticipating attacks and fighting back - hence Gerry Adams voiced by an actor, they tried starving them of the oxygen of publicity.

Which was an achievable tactic in the pre-24hr, multiple news outlets era and of course pre internet and anti-social media. Not possible these days

Tbh as I don't follow trump on twitter I'm not noticing any difference. Trump being quiet and playing golf has been pretty much the way of things since even he seemed to accept the election was lost. Personally I think him shutting up and hitting the golf course from November until 20 Jan is a result. Much better than him trying to do stuff, although I realise it does leave the permanently outraged twitterati at a loose end.

Just because you haven’t seen his Twitter postings doesn’t mean they don’t exist. He’s not shut the fuck up for more than a couple of hours since the day of the election. Usually posting election fraud tweets that are immediately flagged as disinformation. This has not stopped since he went to play golf so your last line is complete bollocks.

There are still billions of dollars going to pet projects unrelated to coronavirus. I personally think that money should have gone directly to US citizens , time for lobbyists to hit the road as well as Trump.

Thankfully there’s a couple of billion for the Space Force, a billion or two for some museums, 40 million for gender education in Pakistan, sounds good to me
