No seriously, it even took Obama a year to pass Obamacare. Trump thought he could fast track it. It didn't work, now he'll have to listen to the conservatives in the near future once the healthcare debate begins again. All parties will be desperate to pass something as Midterm elections creep up, and eventually a compromise would be struck. No side wants to give in this early, unfortunately. Until then, we get to see Obamacare destroy itself.
I would be interested in what you think that the great things that he has done actually are. From what I can gather he's employed some low wage casino staff, hotel staff and construction crews as well as some high paid lawyers. I wouldn't really call that great things in comparison to Bill Gates for example alleviating poverty and funding HIV prevention programmes etc. Meanwhile the Donald Trump foundation has funded the purchase of a portrait of Donald Trump and has funded a few legal battles and that's using funding from donors and not much from Trump himself.Trump has done some great things in his life that have helped thousands of people. He's also done some bad things that have hurt many.
I honestly think that he says what he thinks will appeal to his core support and has no deep convictions about anything. For example, going on about the wall and locking up Hillary appealed to his supporters so he doubled down on it. The fact that there's already a 700 mile wall/fence in place was besides the point. From what I've seen of him, his main aim seems to be wanting to be the most famous person in the world. He's actually achieved that but when it comes to real problems he comes across as not having a fucking clue.One thing I will say in Trump's favour is that I honestly believe him to be a person who thinks he knows what's best for the US and is attempting to enact this. Others have suggested he's there to line his own pockets but I don't believe this and think there are MUCH simpler ways of getting about it. I think that he thinks that building a wall is in the best interests of the nation as are many of his other policies. Whether they ARE in the best interests of the US is obviously up for debate, but I can't ever find a rational starting place that people don't believe in something they've worked so hard for for such a length of time. Campaigning for any office isn't easy, the nomination to the Republican Party and then the Presidential Office must be torturous on a 70 year old man who doesn't exactly look to be at peak athletic fitness to begin with.
