Whatever the arguments about statues and the like, what can't be disputed is that there is no excuse for waving Nazi flags on America's streets and someone representing that bunch of modern-day Nazis deliberately driving their car into a crowd of people, killing one and injuring others. I'm no leftie and have my own view of some of those that attach themselves to Antifa/UAF but IMO that should be for a different discussion and shouldn't be brought up in relation to what happened in Charlottesville.
 
Seems there are a lot of gullible people around who have bought into the changed narrative by Trump of making it a discussion about whether monuments should be kept or removed. There's arguments both ways on that but in general most free countries get rid of monuments to people who stood for oppression and consign them to museums. It's really a separate topic that distracts from the main point which is that he refused to unequivocally condemn Nazis, KKK and assorted white supremacists and insisted that there were some "fine people" amongst them after he half heartedly condemned them. That's not the behaviour of a President or anyone with any decency.
 
Ironically, but unsurprisingly, the crusader against fake news who has said he likes to wait before commenting so he gets his facts right has referred to a fake story about General Pershing's treatment of captured Muslim insurgents in the Philipines in his response to the terror attack in Barcelona.

Many of these statues were erected after 1900... in what was known as the Jim Crow era. This is where segregation was introduced and they were put in place simply to remind the blacks where they stood and as a symbol of intimidation. A number of the statues are in towns which had never been visited by the person portrayed. I agree that history should be maintained (where relevant) but the later statues should be removed. There are some towns that are moving them to museums and even placing them in confederency graveyards.

America is in tatters. He has emboldened the worst of America. His dad was arrested for Klan violence in NY but was never charged. He must have been referring to his own history when defending the Confederacy ideology of hate and supremacy.

When he goes. I hope Pentecostal Pete falls with him. That religious blowjob is as much a threat with Jesus sharing the Oval Office.

Perhaps even more so.
