Donald Trump

I think it is only a bombshell in the sense that a reputable news outlet is now finally publicly analysing his presumably real tax returns (they’ve not even fully completed that analysis) and, depending on how the information conflicts with other private understandings, the implications of it could be considerable for Trump and his businesses.

As you, I, and many others have said over the last few years, there is a reason he did not want these released, and even though anyone paying attention up until now will not be surprised by their content, their merely finally being made public (well, relatively public) is a very big event for many reasons.
I think it's important in so much that the public can see some real figures for comparison to their own tax payments. It won't have any effect on most of the dullards that still support him but it might make a few of them start to question why they're paying more tax than a self professed successful entrepreneur and multi-billionaire when all they do is drive a tractor or flip a burger for a living. (No offence intended to farm workers or Maccies employees, it was just an example)

There is no two ways about it, the blue collar workers who vote for him will always back him, but the idea that they pay significantly more tax than him will annoy them, even if they won't publicly admit it.

If it makes just a small percentage of them think fuck it I won't bother voting at all it will be worthwhile having it out there. Most won't even listen though even if it's reported on Fox news.

So far the plurality of the cult responses appear to be “Well, I always knew he was a smart businessman — that he’s a billionaire and pays no tax just proves what a genius he is” or some shit like that.

Yeah as I say, the professionals (FBI and DHS) disagree with you as to which side is the major domestic terrorist threat. What you posted didn’t change that. Do you not read what you link? For a start they predate my link stating that far right groups are considered the major threat.
You are entitled to your opinion but I never said ANTIFA are the main threat to America's national security like you are implying. I said they are just as much of an issue. Meaning they pose just as much of an issue. Not more of a threat to national security, as much of an issue. The far right and far left both have assault rifles and are both violent. Thats an issue.

Lots of "well we all know billionaires don't pay tax, it's not just him" which doesn't seem a very convincing defence

I am not convinced it will make any real impact on his followers perceptions or behaviour.

But I do think the information now actually being in the public domain could have ripple effects which may cause him many bigger problems.

This could perhaps tip things a bit for any true independents that were still teetering on the fence... but I think even that might be wishful thinking.

Still, we can hope, right?

You posted some footage of people fighting after saying that it's not Trump supporters that incite violence at rallies.

After being proven utterly wrong you've reverted to the both sides argument, which several people have shown that actually it's the Trump supporters responsible for the vast majority of it.
Now you're posting a two year old Australian news report that talks about the radical left's response to the white supremacists that have been emboldened by Trump. You'll notice the word "response" in the last sentence. I'm not condoning it but without the provocation from the white supremacists they would be an even smaller fringe than they actually are.

Any objective assessment would show that nearly all the violence from the left is a response to Trump's incitement of his supporters.

Are you now going to admit you're a Trump fan rather than hiding behind this "I'm looking at all aspects" bullshit.
I tried. Really I did, but in the end I had to resort to the ignore button. It was clear as day the guy was just pulling the first story that popped up on his Google search in order to substantiate his twisted viewpoint without even verifying the content.

That's how it seems to go with all these Trumper's. They pretend they're just being fair and balanced (in a good people on both sides kind of way), when in reality, it's obvious where their loyalties lie.

I showed this post to my wife as we sit here drinking coffee and she literally laughed out loud. I have probably witnessed somewhere in the neighborhood of 150 “far left” protest marches out my home or office window over the last 30 years (my office in SF sits across the street from the INS building, and we used to live in the Castro). Never seen a gun, ever.

There is not an American left or right that I know who wouldn’t laugh at this post. Sorry mate, it’s so wrong that it should be part of a comedy routine.

Glad it gave you a laugh. So just to clarify nobody is armed with guns then on the far left or in Antifa?

Oh FFS — stop with that false equivalency shit — it’s childish and stupid and you KNOW IT. And you also know that isn’t what I said and you also know that you’re wrong. Gun ownership is part and parcel of the far right — it’s definitional, it’s a central tenet. On the far left it’s such the opposite and so rare that my wife is laughing. You might as well argue that because there’s a video of a Klansman spraying patchouli on himself both sides do it.

You posted something dumb and got ridiculed; own it and try a different argument.

I think most of us are bored with your trolling by now.
As discussed yesterday, I think it is time for all of us to move on from that discussion — the points have been made and there’s not much more debate to be had.

I have let @Cityzen_89 know of the expectations for participating in the thread moving forward.

My apologies, I should of ignored further responses.
