I agree ‘old man shouts at clouds’… but I’d say the younger generations post-industrial revolution, have generally only had to deal with or think about 1 or 2 crises in their own times - war and poverty.Dumbfuck old people say this about every generation and have since the beginning of time, and think they’re being wise or profound. I’d love to be a teenager again as opposed to an old guy.
These days it’s war (local, international, terrorist, nuclear threat), poverty (wealth inequality distribution constantly increasing, unaffordable pensions and state spending ), climate (change, uncertainty, consumption overtaking resources, pollution ), demographics (western older populations unsustainable, immigration/emigration concerns), lack of factual science (belief in a religion, rise of the lie, social media)…
… as my ‘kids’ themselves have said, ‘yeah it’s not great for us is it, the future’. :-(
