Donald Trump

Hegseth has served in the National Guard, and he has some decent credentials, but in any normal government, he'd wouldn't be given anything more than a mid-level management position in the DoD at best, and maybe with 15 to 20 year's experience under his belt, he might be ready for the top job.

Does the DoD or the Secretary of State run overseas military for the US?

His Middle East position is pretty anti-Iran and pro-Israel from a quick look at his wikipedia page.
"there's no reason why the miracle of the re-establishment of the Temple on the Temple Mount is not possible."
(this would require knocking down the Dome of the Rock mosque, I think)

You honestly think Harris would have employe an underqualified and inexperienced TV personality to head up the DoD?
It doesn't matter WHO she chose for ANY position including any Federal judges. Republicans would complain. It's standard political procedure and intensely boring and both major parties engage in it and very often the complaints are wholly disingenuous. In this particular case? Well I think I agree with you - he has some street cred, and may be okay to command a "combat brigade" but not an entire "army corps."

Is there a reason you intentionally omitted Hegseth's educational and military background, along with his opinions on war-fighting and readiness, which you did. He may be a poor choice, a very poor choice, but if Trump nominated George Washington you'd complain.

If Kamala (pronounced Kamala) Harris was President-elect Republicans would complain about all her choices.
His job is a fox host. Simple as that

Head of the DoD drives policy from the top down. It should alarm you that his stance on Israel appears to be based on his religious beliefs.
