Donald Trump

No.
My Dad was for a few years.
My grandparents were for a good while too.
Reminds me of the Soviet census that asked four questions:

1. Where were you born?
2. Where did you grow up?
3. Where do you live now?
3. Where would you like to live?

To which someone reputedly (and anonymously) answered:

1. St Petersburg
2. Petrograd
3. Leningrad
4. St Petersburg

Gregor was on Sunday Brunch this week - that character grew out of a sketch and was used to advertise Hamlet Cigars - he wasn't happy because it wasn't that successful and he was asking people of the show if they smoked cigars. The amount of stuff going into Tim Lovejoy's ear must have been epic - he and Simon Rimmer were so trying to get cigar smoking off the agenda it became funny in itself

Did they call themselves British?
My dad? No.
Hard to know with my grandparents. Would it have been normal then?
I doubt it but never met my grandfather. He died long before I was born. My grandma lived to 98years old however.

Grandad was chauffeur and grandma kitchen servant or some such to a local Lord. The. family lived on a lodge on the estate. My dad and his twin brother were the eldest boys and moved up to Dublin to work at an early age.

I still have cousins very well in with the now Lord. The present Lord is big into conservation on the estate and my cousin used to help out on the grounds. Never heard anyone down there have any leanings towards Britishness however.
