So there were only cases taken against him to stop him winning the election.

There are a million cases that can be brought on most people based on interesting theories. Some of which might even be legitimate and winnable. Yet it doesn't mean they'll be brought.

So when I say the point was to stop him from running, I'm not arguing that none of the cases are colorable under the law. Rather, what I'm saying is had Trump decided in 2021 that he'd like to Throw his support behind Nikki Haley and not run... Almost none of the cases would have been brought.

I know quite a few Canadians who were promoting Trump in the lead up to the election. I think a few of those very same people are likely to be at risk of losing their jobs if these Tariffs are enforced for any length of time (USA is Canada’s biggest market…so he has them by the balls, and I have no doubt he’ll be pushing for Canada to reduce its prices so Americans don’t pay more after the tariffs are applied…or market forces will do it for him).

I work in the courts over here. I know how it works.
You may well be right with your second paragraph but I would contend, that doesn’t excuse him of the actual alleged offences.
Your justice system is highly politicised. I think here a civic case would be easier to prosecute and is not politicised so here, he would find himself in court.
Criminal cases have a higher bar to be successful with a prosecution so he may well have got away without trial in those circumstances.

No. That's your framing. My contention is in that the people leading the prosecutions, Fanny, Jack, and the Idiots in NY were all motivated by the want to stop Trump.

I mean in the case of Fanny and Leticia, it's a well known refrain in the black/liberal community.

I.e. "its up to Black women to save Democracy."

To give an example, If a DA wants to punish an opponent he doesn't like, the officers he sends to investigate , harass and arrest his opponent don't have to be in on his scheme.

They can simply follow orders. While said corrupt DA is being corrupt. It's not so hard to understand such a concept.
