Donald Trump

???
You have me scratching my head with that response Dax. Honestly don’t know where you’re going with that.
I don't understand. I was talking about the purpose of the series of legal cases brought against Trump. They were part of an attempt to stop him from winning the election.

I don’t think the prophet ‘Frank’ envisaged completely the scenario enfolding by any means, but from afar it does seem to me he has been remarkably accurate.

Whether it is allowed come to fruition is down to the American public, when it comes to any elections, local or national.

Just be careful what you wish for. It does seem far more credible now, that particular option of deciding could be removed before the next 4 years are up.
I know you’ll say you don’t agree, however whatever your reasons why, I’d be praying to the prophet ‘Frank’ if I was American.
Nah, that guy is a charismatic.. But also perpetually Anti-American and full of himself. There is nothing he predicted there that's true .

I don’t doubt that, hence my qualification around rationality. Either you try to understand that way of thinking, or you shrug your shoulders because you don’t want to.

To me, having been to the States on numerous occasions (although not for half a decade tbf) this doesn’t accord with my lived experience but they were faced with a choice and they’ve made it, despite, as I say, the evidence having been there for all to see.

I’ll pop in here from time to time, and make the odd comment, but I’ve made a decision to emotionally uncouple from the situation, as, quite frankly, there’s fuck all I can do about it.

It’s very sad, because America has given (and taken) a lot from the world, but they’ve made an utterly selfish and bizarre decision that is going to end in tears.

It’s very sad, but I’ll get over it.
I’m with you on that. Nothing we can do over here except look after ourselves, rebuild alliances closer to home and look for ways that will minimise the impact of an unstable USA doing mad shit.

It was frustrating when he won in 2016 because although it was clear to me that Trump was a ****, it was just about understandable that a lot of people would be taken in by his populist rhetoric and his scapegoating of minorities for things not being like they used to be. After 4 years in power I was surprised that 70 million still voted for him but I thought the chaotic transition and 6 Jan would put a lot of people off.

Seems I was wrong all along and people weren’t taken in at all. In spite of knowing exactly what he’s like they actually want the ****, and there’s fuck all anyone can do about it.

Blaming the Dems for not mounting an effective campaign is wide of the mark in that in general they play by the rules, whereas with Trump there are no rules and he will do and say anything to gain an advantage supported by billionaire backers in large sections of the media. He effectively took a gun to a knife fight.

Yeah, that about sums it up for me too.

Sadly, it’s the new normal.
Just look at all the Brexiteer promises and the people who made them. Still fucking up public life and still being supported.
Garage told farmers they were fucked and yet, last week, they were cheering him and the Tory front bench….
