Donald Trump

Trump was shrewd enough to incite the vandalism and invasion without actually using words which would be clear evidence of giving orders
You've hit the nail on the head. Trump is a master of double-speak. Giving a wink-and-a-nod to unsavory groups that support him while seeming to suggest - wink-wink - that he disapproves of their actions.

One salient example of this - asked if he condemned the white supremacist group "Proud Boys" Trump proclaimed, "Stand back and stand by."

I get the impression it was heavily redacted to cover off wider security concerns (i.e. the fact that the USA are wide open to a kompromat in high office type of threat) and to protect intelligence assets. Otherwise, I would say go for it.

If I was Biden i would. It plays to his hawkish side. He can smears the GOP as the party of Putin. And make a public claim the US won't take any shit from Russia now he's in charge.

There is massive scope to investigate the handling of the Muller report. Hilary Clinton had to testify for 11 hours (?) re Bengazi. Just imagine what they could do with this - getting Manafort in and every other low life who had a role in the early days of the Trump admin right through to Bill Barr and his blatant lying.

But it might not be that issue that stings him the most - the corruption was so blatant that almost everywhere they look they will find wrongdoing. They almost need to pick the legal fights - the clear and obvious from the fog of day to day grift.

I think once they start kicking rocks over, there is going to be so much evidence of corruption and wrongdoing that they'll be in danger of getting bogged down in it and not have time for much else.

That'll explain why Moscow Mitch is trying everything to block Garland becoming AG. His job will be to take out the big boys through the justice system whilst the president concentrates on the issues of the day.

Just like the way they go after the mob. You start low down, you find a slam dunk and you use it to get more dirt from higher up the chain. You build the cases up from the bottom. You follow the money. Most mobsters go down for tax evasion - the murders can be hidden but the money leaves a trail.
