So they’re stuck.

But power makes you do funny things, like sacrifice every ounce of self-respect and become a flat-out whore like Graham and Haley and McCarthy. Some boat is better than no boat. So they get on their knees and hunt around in Trump’s ample trousers to find his tiny schlong so they can engulf it with their mouths and cover it in their saliva. In public. Over and over. I’m guessing most whores don’t like their jobs, don’t like their clients, and are in it for the money — don’t you?

Not sure even that will restore trump. The rw end of the party will of course be tempted, as will the proud boys and hillbillies. To get back in the Whitehouse he'd need enough (centrist) ordinary Americans to fall for it again and turn out to vote. Unless the current govt does something extraordinarily bad then I just don't think the numbers are there.

They know the numbers are not there - that is why they are looking to restrict voting in places like Georgia. And where they wont be able to stop voters they will look to invalidate results. The current ballot audit in PA is a total scam but it's a trial run. They are testing the waters on how to invalidate elections in pro Dem counties. It's genuinely frightening stuff and a real challenge for the system. That will be the strategy - as per what they tried with Georgia. In that instance a decent respectable Republican stood up to Trump and Guliani and refused to question the result once counting had been done. The attempt to influence the outcome is one of those grey area crimes that Reps have zero hesitation in pushing and with no push back they will only get worse.

The battle right now in the GOP is between the decent respectable ones and the all out crazies who think it patriotic to do whatever it takes to put Trump back in the white house - including blatant election fraud.

It’s not just Trump — it’s the future. Cultists will try to infiltrate low level election official positions to protect/shepherd cult-approved MAGA lunatic candidates. Every single election of prominence will be met with cries and shouts of “Fraud!” if/when a Republican loses — wait until Gov Newsom of my state wins his recall tomorrow in a landslide — that won’t stop them despite the state being only 25% Republican. Of all the things Trump did, his championing of election fraud — the most damaging-to-democracy lie he could tell — is the worst.

Yes - what is crazy is how many lunatics seem happy to go all in to help him do it. There is a sizeable wreck heap of careers already. The likes of Guliani, My Pillow guy and the kraken lady are going to lose millions alongside their credibility for no gain for them personally. Trump wont even talk to Guliani now. These people are the tip of the ice berg - there seems to be thousands willing to abandon their families and jobs and just go all in on Q/Trump BS. Some might just find a way into positions of authority and that is what they want - a corrupt system. Its very dangerous times.
