Because you think that Americans would allow themselvs to be thrown into a state of chaos. (what would happen with Trump as presiden once more) It is more than obvious that Trump does not cope well with letting go of power. Thats why he is such a strong admirer of Putin who has had Russia under his boot since 1999.Not sure how you've come to that conclusion?
I'm quite certain Trump won't be allowed to put America at risk, but i'm also certain that he wouldnt get voted, the anti-trump wave won't disappear too soon.

If Rafensperger had agreed to bend the knee to Trump in Georgia Pence would have found the excuse he was looking for not to certify the Electoral College vote and we would now be looking at the smoking ruins of the self-proclaimed greatest democracy in the world.

The VP was looking for ANY excuse to overturn the EC votes. If he'd have managed to come up with a scenario where he thought he could get away with it, he would have done, and democracy would be in flames.
