Glad to live on the only free, sane and largely liberal continent on the planet but Europe is gonna have to get it's act together soon if the loons in the U.S put this tango shit gibbon back in the WH.
The US will be in the midst of a civil war and too distracted to give a fuck about foreign policy imho

I last went to the States just before Covid and visited Colorado, New Mexico and Texas, hardly bastions of universal liberalism, and had an amazing time - and met very few people I didn’t like - but I have no real inclination to go back now.

The country appears to be slowly descending into insanity and it’s difficult to see how they are going to change path, whatever the outcome of next year’s election.

Certainly if Trump wins I think, as you say, liberal Europe is going to have to look after itself much more than hitherto.

The world seems like a grim place atm.

I've been out a few times since Trump was elected in 2016 (CA,NV, OH & FL). Florida is particularly bad in parts. Absolute fking NUTTERS some of them. California isn't too bad, but again there are the odd nutters... and they've all got guns!!!

Yeah enjoyed Austin a lot , a real oasis of liberalism in a MAGA desert.
Maybe New England/New York is where I would go next
