People always assume that the government works in a very joined up and coordinated way. It doesn’t.

If the CIA or military intelligence have evidence that Trump is a Russian asset, and they probably do, there is not a lot they can do with it. There's a thin blurry line between a full on paid spy/operative and a useful idiot who is compromised. Trump is the latter but even if he was the former it's hard to do anything with that information unless you can prove a clear cut crime.

No one is going to call a judge or a prosecutor and tell them to stop a trial.

I wasn't suggesting the government stop any trial, more Trump offering up the information to prosecutors prior to sentencing.

As always with Trump, the most telling part is what he doesn't say. And he doesn't say anything about Navalny, and I think we all know why that is. He's either a compromised Russian asset, or if we're very generous, he's just a guy who brown-noses dictators because he's a snivelling weasel, and I don't know which is worse.

Huh? This post makes zero sense.

So - hypothetically speaking - the CIA has evidence that Trump is a Russian asset. Is it credible evidence? If so, they can turn the evidence over the the justice department after first making sure that any asset which the evidence might be traced back to is made safe.
