I know it's a diversion but population decline is a major issue for some countries Italy for example, the problem is an economic one, people pay taxes and they consume goods and services keeping the economic circus going less people less taxes less consumption

The population problem is offset slightly by third world birth-rates which are much higher, however they have not got the economic infrastructure to cope which leads to high unemployment and grinding poverty, which leads to many trying to escape to where there is jobs and better standard of living (i.e Europe and America) this is not a new phenomenon, the huge Italian, Irish and Spanish emigration in the last two centuries was driven by much lower infant mortality, so large numbers of children were surviving into adulthood there was nothing for them so they had to emigrate

If we want to stop immigration we have to look at the reasons for it, otherwise we are just treating the symptoms rather than th eissues that cause it (less war might also help) but then again who would do the jobs we don't want to do anymore?
Is the simpe answer that we invite more young workers and young families in? Hope so.

If you look at the long term projections in countries like China, South Korea, Brazil, Russia and most of Western Europe the reduction in population is actually staggering. That will create huge challenges but will give the planet a breather assuming it doesn’t precipitate WW3.

You need young men and women to fight long wars. You'd think countries with already dwindling populations of young people aren't going to be daft enough to throw their most valuable human resources into the meat grinder.

Besides Russia, of course- it's a totalitarian state led by a mad dwarf.

Conscription isn't as easily enforced in a democracy when you can fly half way across the world instead for a 1000 dollars.

Aside from the fact that swathes of young people will simply refuse to fight the phony wars so beloved of old men desperate to keep their hands on the tiller of power.

My dad? No.
Hard to know with my grandparents. Would it have been normal then?
I doubt it but never met my grandfather. He died long before I was born. My grandma lived to 98years old however.

Grandad was chauffeur and grandma kitchen servant or some such to a local Lord. The. family lived on a lodge on the estate. My dad and his twin brother were the eldest boys and moved up to Dublin to work at an early age.

I still have cousins very well in with the now Lord. The present Lord is big into conservation on the estate and my cousin used to help out on the grounds. Never heard anyone down there have any leanings towards Britishness however.
I take it the Lord is not an absentee English Lord. But it's a British title so does everyone in the locality still defer to his lordship?

But if we have to do trade deals with the EU then it’s larger than USA. I agree with the individual states in Europe but as a collective it’s bigger. Doesn’t really matter anyway if the orange gibbon starts one off we will all suffer.
We don’t do trade deals with the EU, we do them with individual countries and companies. The UK/EU Agreement is a set of rules governing trade, not a trade deal in the sense of a transaction.

Those young workers will not be white, so we must work to avoid the nonsense we have seen both in the US and Europe recently.

I don’t think we want to stop immigration, nor should we. We need to manage it and that means preventing illegal immigration inter alia. More housing, better education, more schools, better health service, these are the challenges.

Lol. This is a bit childish now isn't it. Given the opportunity, they, including your 'friends,' all will jump at an opportunity to get back in.

The reality is they are simply not wanted back.
It’s not childish to call you a liar — I know for a fact you are lying.

And you are lying again. And again.

This isn’t up for debate. You’re just fucking wrong.
