Donald Trump

[
I think yourself and a few others continue to goad each other and I won’t deny that the GOP voters are less educated argument has been done to death by quite a few regulars in here as well.
I observe both sides as objectively as I can. I’m open about the things I agree with, so that I’m up front with yourself or others like Bigga in the past.

One thing you have not got from me, is an accusation that you don’t know what you are voting for. I’ve made it clear on several occasions that you knew damned well what you were voting for and you are quite pleased that you expect to get exactly that.

For the argument above I don’t agree with you about what that poster’s thrust was in that post. I’ve have done the same with Foggy, for the record, when I’ve felt he was taking a meaning out of something more than was objectively implied or evident.

I don’t want to fall out with you, but if I bother in here at all, I’ll speak my mind.

One observation since the election result is, perhaps understandable, but you have taken on the exact same air of superiority (perhaps not the right word) that you seemed to detest in Dem canvassers.
You’ve given up/grown tired of explaining.
Instead a lot of your answers, like the one I was disagreeing with seem to be putting any dissenting voice into the same ‘who’s stupid now?’ box.

Ironic! Isn’t it.

Probably best I stay out of here and perhaps the political threads in general for a while as there are a few that are starting to bug me. God forbid I really let loose in a football thread about my political beliefs.
Let me start by saying I'll never have a problem with you for multiple reasons. But I generally try not to take people's attacks on my political views personally. No matter how personally they attack me.

Second, I find you in particular to be an honest arbiter. Even though I recognize that your world view naturally has a negative view of mine. In spite of that, you been gracious. Even if it doesn't come across in our exchanges, I have nothing but the utmost respect for you. Now that's on the personal...

To the facts of our current exchange, I have to say I disagree with you. And as the posts from Super and foggy have noted. We are all in agreement that the point of the original post was "Trump's voters."

Super_citys point wasn't that I was wrong on what the thread was about, but rather in the conclusion I reached. He surmised (correctly I might add) that there were other possible explanations other than they were stupid...

I admit, he is right But those conclusions were even worse than the one I proposed. Contrary to super_city claim, It wasn't that these other potential conclusions didn't occur to me.(.. I mean all you have to do is watch any liberal channel and you'd hear then suggest it constantly), it's that I purposely chose the least negative interpretation of his claim.

But, I stand corrected. Foggy came up with a less negative possibility... Trump voters are Naive. That's less negative than stupid.

So I take back my original claim of "Stupid," and replace with "Naive." It's nicer.

As for taking on the "air of superiority" granted, you said that might not be the right word, but I get what you are saying. I haven't.

I am exactly the same to be fair. Sometimes I write long annoying posts that get cherry picked. And other times, I am short an exasperating. Coz I'm frustrated..

True, there are fewer personal abusers now. As most of them don't post as much or attack me personally anymore. They've said their piece about me and are satisfied to let it be.

I don't think I goad anyone in particular, maybe Foggy? But not really. I'm often just responding to what he says or thinks of me. But not with any intent to goad him. I do however often challenge his analysis or conclusions. But I've always done that.

Anyway, I don't think the way I respond has changed at all. Perhaps the way others react to me has a bit. I'll agree on that.

Naïve. We keep forgetting naïve.
I agree. And have corrected myself. Naive is in fact a slightly less negative conclusion than Stupid.

So there you go. I agree with Foggy. Admit I might have reached a slightly more negative conclusion and rescind my original summary.

Riddled with pox, we keep forgetting pox-ridden.

That'll be the CDC getting scuttled once Trump is sworn in. Can't have stat's like that in public hands.

Personally I don’t like to think of my streams of thought as personal attacks, whether they be on political views or any other subjects for that matter.
If that’s how they come across then, apologies, I need to do better. Particularly in finding the time to properly express what is going on in my head. When rushing to reply I find, sometimes the right turn of phrase does not flow as effortlessly as I would like.
It can lead to either misinterpretation or ambiguity which leaves several interpretations open to the reader.

For what it’s worth, naive is not a word that came to mind either. So you can eliminate that along with stupid.

I firmly believe most who voted for Trump were neither naive nor stupid. They knew what they were voting for and were quite happy with it.

I may be naive in believing that.

Just to be clear, you have never personally attacked me... What I was trying to express was that even if you did, Id try my best not to take it personally.

But to be clear, you haven't. So no apologies required on that front.

As for why many voted for Trump. I wrote a response to Required Username on the other thread. It was probably too long and winded. But those were my thoughts on how people organize their reasons.

They knew what they were voting for and were quite happy with it.
Some knew what they were voting for and were happy re policy.

And if they don’t get it, then they were naïve.

Will they get it?

I predict no.

Will they believe they got it when told?

Yes.

Because they’re naïve.

Some knew what they were voting for and were happy re the man.

They aren’t naïve.

They’re cunts.
