Don't Bang the Drum.

I've not looked but I imagine there's posts on United forums laughing at all this drum nonsense. I know I would.

Who gives a fuck what them filthy bastards think???

It won't work because most English football fans won't be willing to join in a chant just because some self appointed "choir master" tells them to. We all want to watch City in our own way but what I don't understand is why people insist on sitting in certain areas of the ground when it's evident that they're not comfortable with the atmosphere around them. At Maine Road you sat in the Maine Stand, Platt Lane or areas of the Kippax if you wanted to sit and watch the game and the North Stand if you wanted to make some noise. I sit in 109 and it seems to be a constant battle between those who want to stand up and sing and those who want to sit down. I would never presume to tell somebody to move seats but surely certain areas of the ground are better suited to certain people?

Absolutely pissed myself laughing at those 'this is a movement' type comments.

You're a little gaggle of teenage dweebs on an Internet forum. The atmosphere at city has got nothing to do with you. Drop this now because you're making fools of yourselves.
Idiotic comments like this get right on my tits. How come these young uns never post shit like the above, why do you feel, you have a right to diss others because you supported city longer than some of these young uns.
I can see quite clearly who's making a fool of themselves with comments like, the atmosphere at city is nothing to do with you. Fuk me their blues, of course it is. It's not yours to share with who you decide.

The guy is a megalomaniac when it comes to City, arrogant, pompous quite frankly it disappoints me that he is a city fan as most blues i meet in person are the polar opposite.

I dont know him, and dont wish to, but he seems stuck in the past wanting City to remain the local club for local people whilst our neighbours continue to dominate.

Anyone who says they wouldnt like our atmosphere to be like dortmund, well quite frankly, i just dont get that.

Every team that has come here and owned us have had a drum or some mind of megaphone guy leading the chants, to me, if that iswhat it takes to make the Etihad a cauldron then im all for it. We need to improve the atmosphere, and i applaud those trying to do something about it. Genuinely hope loads of blues, those who care about the piss poor atmosphere, get behind it

If that is his view, then I can understand why he sees it that way. Ideally, I would like City to stick to the local roots, and not have all the outsiders come and turn our club into everything I hate about the scum. However, am I going to tell Sheikh Mansour to f*** off just because we get a few hundred first timers every game? Absolutely not. Also, one of the things I hate about the scum is infact the awful atmosphere, so if someone wants to help improve the atmosphere by going down this route, I applaud and respect them for speaking up and trying to start something. If it takes a drum, so be it, I'm behind it!

Whats the worst that can happen? A few rags laugh at us? I've grown up experiencing nothing else, really doesn't bother me anymore.

Well the atmosphere is terrible, so something needs doing. A few renditions of the Mancini song or Blue Moon doesn't count.

A drum would be great if it gets every one singing, however for some reason our fans don't sing and so it would end up sounding like Blackburn.

Lets face facts, after decades of not winning anything our fans have turned into negative miserable gits, who are only happy with arms crossed and moaning.

The younger fans shouldn't give a damn about the old gits and if it's a drum you want, bring one along.

Yes. Only if we use the drum right. Check this guys rhythm, sounds amazing

The atmosphere is no better or worse than anywhere else.

Only European nights seem to be different. Can you just do it then?

We have won 26/28 at home in the league and drawn 2 so the atmosphere whether good, bad or indifferent has clearly made little difference.

Europe is a different matter though so why not just trial it in those games.

I think a drum is a great idea. I was considering switching my allegance to Bolton or maybe even Blackburn becasue they have a drum and I think it terrific.

in other words NO
