I have already bought and read it,mate.
I don't agree with their conclusions regarding City, but that in itself is not sufficient reason to stop buying a newspaper.
How far do you want to take your boycott of all media that criticise us?
You would never watch Match Of The Day,or Sky Sports,or listen to Talkshite,or buy any daily paper whatsoever, because they all do it.
But by all means live in your media-free bubble,if it makes you happy.

Much as it galls me to agree (again) with my pinko neo-trotskyist/leninist/commie/collectivist/marxist/stalinist friend, to not buy a paper because you disagree with some of its output is an absurd notion.

It is absolutely absurd, I agree. In fact, plenty on here advocate not buying various newspapers because of perceived slights by journalists against MCFC, or something that goes against their brand of politics. Papers are by nature inspired to be perverse and controversial, it's how they make a living, the internet also having more than it's share of journo's who may not like us, so advocating non purchase or, in some cases hoping for some paper's demise seems a tad like petulance actually.

This is what I do,mate.
By subliminal use of logic and reason,I subvert even my political opponents around to my way of thinking.
As I was only saying to gordondaviesmoustache at the newsagents earlier as we collected our Morning Stars...

If Roberto is going to make claims like the one he did then he has to expect a bagful of shit when things don't work out...I think his quote was probably taken out of context but he did utter the words 'maybe we are at the same level as Barca and Madrid' We are obviously not so it's fair game in my book.
What would be fantstic though would be for City to now qualify...we have been buried far too quickly in my opinion and there is the potential for us to make a few journo's eat humble pie.
It is clear that what everyone in the media is crowing for this weekend is a Liverpool win so i think this is a huge game mentally for Roberto and the team.
Forza Mancini.

He actually said "in the same level" rather than "at". Not being pedantic, I think he said "level" when he really meant a range, band or tier. In other words he wasnt suggesting absolute equality. He also referred to United along with Barca and RM and clearly United are not at the same level.

It was interesting when there was all the controversy over Blatter's comments. A multi lingual commentator on 5 Live, who insisted he is no fan of Blatter, said that Blatter is much more impressive when speaking French or German. Less of the buffon, much more nuanced and capable of putting forward sophisticated ideas.

Bobby's obviously much better than Blatter, but I still think it can be a mistake to take his comments in English too literally.

In the same level or at the same level won't matter to a hack so regardless of Bobby's meaning ( i did say i thought he was taken out of context) he has to be careful...here's how the BBC reported it at the time...'At' not 'In'....

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini believes his side are on a par with the best teams in Europe.

City are five points clear at the top of the Premier League and will progress to the last 16 of the Champions League if they beat Napoli on Tuesday.

"We started the season very well and this confidence is important for the team," said the Italian.

"I don't think we are better than Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, but probably we are at the same level."

the point i was making is that the media is looking for ammo with regards to us...we have had some positive coverage of our attractive style but underlying it all seems to be a desire to see City 'fall' from Grace, evident in the feeding frenzy after Naples. We were not that bad, and Napoli were not that good...it was a tight game that could quite easily have gone our way.

I think the next month will be significant...our last few games have seen us win but not do so at our best...QPR,Newcastle...we need to up the level tomorrow.

If it was that Matt Scott who was guilty of this article, then that must be the same Matt Scott who on Talkshite on wednesday morning said "I hope they (Manchester City) dont get through, i want them to fail". Yep this cock deserves a bit of a slap if you ask me as he is making it personal and not objective!!

Surely he didn't say we're not better than United?

Front page quotes ridiculing Mancini for comparing City to Barcelona and Madrid before the Napoli game.

And compiles a list of players in the City with Champions League experience in an attempt to undermines Mancini's explanation that City will learn from the experience

They include Kolo Toure, Owen Hargreaves,, Tevez and Bridge who have about 150 appearances between them.

You'd think City were in crisis, not Chelsea or even Utd who have struggled in a very weak group. What's it going to be like when City lose in the Premiership?

At least we are news.

David Conn's online article is not that bad before his best mates pass comment. It's the front page photo of mancini and the mocking comparison to Barcelona (plus accompanying table with CL appearances) that are the problem.

they will always find a way too ridicule us but stray from the facts.

Correction mate They Will Try and Riducule us but as sure as eggs are eggs we will always have the last laugh!
