that was the mistake after which he was over for mancini as the first team player
Nastasic plays better, he is young and has enough talent to progress
also we have rekik, one of the best academy products for last 4-5 years.
i can't understand why we shouldn't sell him in summer.

Totally agree with OP, just a thought, since lesscot has been out of favour Joe has come under some pressure, Nastajic can play but wonder if he lacks in the reading of the game? I know he is a young lad and generally delivers but we appear to be under more pressure at set pieces than we were last season and we don't half flap.

Lescott lacks pace but imo make up for that in his reading of the game and attacking the ball skill set.

We must hang onto him.

If we need to sell before we can buy is in not logical to sell someone like Lescott? Karim Rekik may be showing enough promise for Mancini to feel confident in letting Lescott go.

If Mancini now has to break even in his transfer dealings for me we have to sell the likes of Lescott. If, along with other player departures, it makes the difference in a transfer to us of Isco or Benat then we need them more than we need Joleon.

It makes sense to me.

18 - No #MCFC player has made more successful headed clearances than Matija Nastasic (18) this season in the Premier League. Settled.

His inexperience means his reading of the game isn't fantastic yet but he is at a good level already and he has pace incase he needs it also.

I think Mancini doesn't necessarily want to get rid of Lescott but he isn't going to play much and we have to stop paying big wages to someone who isn't going to be a starter. Factor in that he is only getting older and we have a very talented lad in Rekik waiting for a chance.
It makes sense on plenty of levels to both sell and keep. If an offer comes in that doesn't require any financial help from us I can see us taking it.

Fully agree. Kompany, Yaya, Lescott, and Dzeko should all play against Stoke!
I really rate Nastasic and the early signs seems to suggest we've got a top player on our hands, but Lescott is the better bet against Stoke.
