How times have changed over the last 2 years ... all these top players are ooking like done deals to join Robiho/SWP/Ireland etc, and all some fans can do is sigh wistfully at the fact that Eto'o might not be coming.

Reality check, anyone?

I'm honestly not having a pop as it's pretty much impossible not to get carried away with the new potential, but I do think we should take a step back and appreciate how good a position we're in.
 
Not sure how Petrov got lumped in with Elano as a moaner... Met him, nice guy and his Agent said a few weeks ago he wants to stay if he an and fight for his place...

Eto'o isn;t all that , I watched a lot of la Liga and to be fair anyone would have scored 20 goals with the service he got. Barca aint daft , his best days have long gone else wy would they not make him feel wanted. Tevez is nearing his prime and so is RSC.
I would hate to see Petrov playing against us, I love the guy

agree 100%

barca would make le fonde (rochdale) look a star buy with the rest of the players assisting him, hope we keep petrov as apart from last year been injured he been mint for us!
 
Hey it's not the end of the world if Et'o doesn't come.If we can afford to pay his fee and wages then there must be other first class strikers out there that we can afford.I don't believe that et'o is the only one city are looking at,we just don't know it yet.Remember last summer when Robbie turned up out of the blue,who would have thought that???
 
Getting Tevez, Lescott and Toure would be great and deffo a step in the right direction. But I still think for City to be taken seriously by the best players we NEED a marquee signing. Tevez is not it for me IMO although he would be most welcome lol. If Eto'o is a no-go then we need to get someone else otherwise this problem will continue to rear it's ugly head. Of course if we can win something without a star name then that would help for next year at least.

Do we really need the marquee signing - can we not develop a new one ie SUPERMAN could be as good as any around

Henry wasnt well known when he joined Arsenal
