We didn’t see it because he was stuck in no man’s land up front on his own.Did we really see any of Bernardos energy tonight, don't think we did

Yup. I don't think we will play as poorly in the 2nd leg. 2-1 is a great result for us when we haven't really played that well.Good win, disappointed with the goal but it was a lovely move for them. On another night we'd have had 4. That's what happens in the latter rounds of this competition, we can't steamroller every team in every game, football doesn't work like that. Dortmund's league form isn't tremendous but how many teams over the years have won this competition or got to the final with shite domestic campaigns?? Very confident we'll get a couple over there and progress.
And then either Yorkshire TV or Tyne Tees in the final !Winner plays LWT though. That could be massive.
I will give your post a like as it’s far too sensible and accurate for many on here. The reality is they are the best side we have faced all season.
Very, very good side.
Thought we were immense.
Thought our mentality was colossal to push for the winner despite their late equaliser. Sign of a collective winning mentality.
Pep was excellent imo.
Kept wonderboy pretty quiet and changed it by bringing Jesus on at the right time and having him press their tiring back four.
I'm so proud of that performance. A proper top level performance against a very good opponent at the very top level.
Streets ahead of the Lyon debacle last year.
And then either Yorkshire TV or Tyne Tees in the final !
When I think of what Gundo does, the words 'too slow' don't spring to mind. Pace looks decent to me. I've said all along to those who sit near me in the North Stand that he's the perfect Pep player - short passes, can beat a player, win the ball and score. It wasn’t really a false 9 tonight as Bernie did actually play up top, and consequently wasn’t his fault he couldn’t impact the game. Kev would have been better there as he’d have played his normal game in the gaps. I agree about Dinho too, he’s just a bit quicker in the mind and doesn’t get caught in possession as easily as Rodders. I think point was proved about Gundo too that it’s no good playing him deeper with Rodders, they are just both too slow, he needs to be getting in the box or not be in the side. I’d leave Gundo out in the second leg.
For me, I‘d play Dinho, Kev and Bernie in midfield. Then Jesus, Phil and Raz front 3.
Agreed. Not the first time either in recent months when he was out at left back he was really poor. I think the 4-1 win at home to Wolves they both played and Cancelo done nothing but give the ball away.Cancelo was a worry tonight, he didn’t look happy being shunted back over to left back, worst performance from him in a while. Looked like the sulky player from a while back to me.
It‘s a conundrum, he’s a better player than Kyle but we need Kyle’s pace to get us out of jail.
Against the teams we play week in week out I agree, but not when it’s against the top sides. When I think of what Gundo does, the words 'too slow' don't spring to mind. Pace looks decent to me. I've said all along to those who sit near me in the North Stand that he's the perfect Pep player - short passes, can beat a player, win the ball and score.
