Pep should let Zinchenko's wife to pick the formation this time.
That’s a good post. My only concern is Sterling fucking up in front of goal so often. For that reason plus as you say with our best strategy of closing Dortmund down very quickly when we lose possession, then it has to be Foden. He will terrorise their back line with his darting runs and determination. We'll have most of the possession and when we lose the ball it will be mostly in their half. The best way to disrupt their counter will be to press high and tenaciously. If they don't get going, Haaland doesn't get the service, and no team does this as well as us at the moment, in fact it has been one of our best strategies for conceding very few goals.
No one wants an "overthought" line-up, and we won't need to in this regard. A tried and well familiar side.
I wouldn't mind Foden for Sterling, but I agree with earlier posts that suggest Pep's not as likely to start Phil here as most are thinking.

That’s the team for me. Full of energy and determination.Ederson
Walker
Stones
Dias
Cancelo
KDB
Rodri
Gundogan
Bernardo
Jesus
Foden
High pressure forward line, plenty of shots in the attacking 5, and Rodri, Cancelo, Gundo and KDB can all find the forward pass for the 3 silky speedsters to get in behind.
Mahrez
Aguero
Sterling
Torres
on the bench, with
Ferna
Laporte
Mendy
Zinchenko
isn’t a bad squad!!!
it’s now it never boys. Let the games begin!!
We look forward to your pre match reports. No pressure, but get on with it lad lol. After not having any City game for over two weeks, we now already have another one tomorrow and I haven't even caught up on the MotD highlights of the last one yet (out of habit watch those recorded as that's always with different commentary and analysis) ... bloody hell, I also need to do a Pre-Match write up for the next one ...
I would think he was over that slip the second he won the game for England.I'd go with Laporte rather than Stones just because Stones might not have got that England incident out of his head yet.
A doubt in my mind is whether we go with a central striker or whether we use Foden or KDB in that central role. I think I'd go with Jesus. He looked very sharp against Leicester.
