A few DL passes from yesterday's 0-0 draw - 87% pa, 47 touches, 90 mins.
Poor quality video, luckily it only lasts 1:22 -

Looks neat and tidy in the video but its far from a barometer of his progress. Can anyone who has watched Girona give us an idea of his quality? and, more pertinently, could he have a future here?

Average at best. Should not be starting in front of Pere Pons, Madness really. Not impressed at all with him. Good enough for a common sub, not enough for being a starter. Doubt he will make it to the top level, probably will go to have a good career somewhere.

Watched Girona [15th] vs Rayo [19th] play in a game-long light vertical rain - DL at DM.

1st half - Don't think DL touched the ball the first 10 mins as the game was just utter helter skelter, but it settled into a decent watch after that. He sprayed the ball around with dangerous passes of all lengths. Always avail, softly received the ball, fine one-touches, one eye-popping 45-yard diagonal, coupla intercepts. He takes FK's and corners - should have had 2 assists from set pieces - two headers blazed high. 92% pa on 33 touches after 45 mins. 2-0 Girona at HT. About 50/50 possession.

2nd half - 2-1 final score - stand yer ground half for Girona. By the 58th min Girona had used all 3 subs due to injuries - Patrick Roberts was the 3rd sub - no joy for Aleix Garcia. DL had very few offensive touches - Rayo dominated the ball and closed him down lots better in this half - coaching decision by Rayo? He almost curled in a shot at the death arriving late on a counter-attack tho. DL took a pro yellow card two-arming a guy down during a counter-attack. Ended with 64 touches and 88% pa, 7.6 rating at whoscored. Solid all-around game for him. shrug

Portu went off with a hamstring injury and Lozano took a str8t red card for Girona - so Patrick Roberts might get more PT in the next few matches. He did okay as an outlet man roaming up high. Constantly scowling and gesticulating digustedly at his teammates' lack of execution and vision when he didn't receive the passes for which he felt entitled.

As an aside, the Girona keeper, 27-yr old Bono, would be a decent back-up should his name ever come up for City. And the Ref (couldn't find his name), tall youngish skinny fellow, did quite well.
