Suspect the noise around Diaz is clubs laying markers for potential summer moves,
Probably a good time to bump this thread. Seems as if we're going the Douglas Luiz route to cover our LCM/DM hole. Hard to argue that getting him for the rumored £42-43m is anything but a bargain in today's market.
Luiz is a reliable player that is seemingly always available (over 2600 minutes all 5 years in the prem). He's quite good at everything as far as I can tell. Stands out as a specifically good passer and ball carrier, while being very secure defensively. Seems to have quite the engine on him too - not the type of player you want to come up against.
A welcomed addition to the squad, and for a very reasonable fee.

Tolmie thinks we are in at the last minute. I reckon we can offer much better terms than Juve. We also have the likes of McAtee that could be tempting for Emery, look at what he has done with Rogers!
