Reminds me of soccer AM
Haha at least someone got itReminds me of soccer AM
Yep. Over 300 games played. Lots of experience. Might not be the long term solution but we simply couldnt go on any longer with what we had in the squad.Great age
We could probably flog him back to Villa for 80% of what we pay should we need as well.If we have to eat a Luiz deal to get Cambiaso fine. Luiz alone, not moved that much tbh
a 3rd loan to Girona beckons.. lolWe could probably flog him back to Villa for 80% of what we pay should we need as well.
Oh yes one swallow does not a summer make.Agreed but also hesitant to be too positive. Ipswich were awful and wide open. We found a confidence and rythm we haven't had in months, but yet to see how we respond when better team apply pressure on us
He will take 6 months to just understand how we play and what Pep wants from him. Took Rodri and Fernandinho a year or two to get to grips to the requirement. Kind of a pointless loan. And we can do so much better than sign him. It is the most crucial position in our team and imo, determines how successful we will be come end of season. The board have had months to figure out a target since Rodri went down. We’ve now addressed 3 positions before this, which baffles me. I get they’re all important and you sort what you can, but this is by far the most important one.i'm unsure regarding the deal for douglas luiz on one hand it's a midfielder which we desperately need but at the same time not sure he's the curtain raiser we need
We can’t have curtain raisers for every position we aren’t Madrid..i'm unsure regarding the deal for douglas luiz on one hand it's a midfielder which we desperately need but at the same time not sure he's the curtain raiser we need
Rightly so IMO.Definitely sounds like we don’t rate him enough to have him permanently
Said it elsewhere, I think we know exactly who we want for the 8/6 to take us forward and replace Gundogan and or Kovacic but it’s looking like whoever that is isn’t available this month, it isn’t really baffling. He will take 6 months to just understand how we play and what Pep wants from him. He’s not a bad player, he’s a decent player, but there’s levels to playing for us.
Not sure what you mean by 'curtain raiser' (defined as something that happens before the main event as in the Community Shield is the curtain raiser to the season). Are you suggesting we need a stop gap player in that position until such time we can bring in the real deal? If so, how would that help us in the short term (unless of course you just don't understand the meaning of the term).i'm unsure regarding the deal for douglas luiz on one hand it's a midfielder which we desperately need but at the same time not sure he's the curtain raiser we need
i think i totally used the wrong term there i'm meaning i was hoping for a midfielder that would raise our levels luiz feels like a stop gap for meNot sure what you mean by 'curtain raiser' (defined as something that happens before the main event as in the Community Shield is the curtain raiser to the season). if he's a straight loan then that's not to badWell he is thats why it would be a loan
Then we walk away. The shoes on the other foot now. They’re desperate to get rid. We shoukd be telling them to pay his wages too ;)
He has been around the Club before, to some degree. Not a given players take 6 months to adapt to Pep. Plenty have hit the ground running, Haaland, Silva, Dias, Walker, Alvarez, Akanji off the top of my head.He will take 6 months to just understand how we play and what Pep wants from him. Reinforcements make no difference to C/L qualification. The current squad will have to qualify, or not.He has been around the Club before, to some degree. We have no option but to get someone in. The last 3 months have been tragic and Champions League qualification is going to be very difficult even with reinforcements. Without reinforcements it would be almost impossible, especially with the extremely difficult run of games we have over the next 2 months...
