Douglas Luiz

Jeez...

View attachment 143633

Despite being loyal and only ever having eyes for one woman at a time in my life, and honestly never even looking at other women in a realistic way, then at the risk of sounding like some sort of gross horrible womaniser for any easily offended types... Really?

Honestly I fully understand if someone is very bored of these comments or it's against their tastes that's their prerogative, even if it's just about getting the Douglas Luiz thread back on track focusing mainly on comments relating to his potential transfer.

But we're all humans and women are no different in the way they talk, they aren't precious little things who need protecting from comments...

With the amount of women who swoon over the likes Jack Grealish calves and whatever else is on display, like my mother in law every time he's on TV checking out for his calves arse or other areas it's madness.

Your comment might have well thought out intentions and some may vehemently agree but honestly it isn't real life, humans both male or female do this very thing you're saying "whatever this is" all the time and it's absurd to pretend otherwise, honestly the Mrs thinks Grealish is a dog in her own words but actually fancies Pep and more strangely Foden.
Lots of women in the 1990s objectified the likes of David Beckham and Jamie Redknapp back then, also Rodney Marsh and George Best and Kevin Keegan in his tight shorts before that too.

Is it a bit crass? Maybe but plenty of women if you're around them long enough watching football or even in the work place, straight ones are frothing at the mouth all over male footballers or celebrities they like, every single week and about what they'd actually do to them too if they got them alone.

Yet the way your comment comes across is that it's a male only thing? Most are clearly jokes I know mine was whether people think it was in poor taste or not, If it's against the rules which I'm not aware then fair enough however both genders clearly do this all the time, so unless you're very easily offended or want to get the thread talking about only Douglas Luiz I don't really get the comment too much.

One thing I will acknowledge is I fully understand the forum might even want to avoid it generally as a rule... I do realise it could get seriously out of line I've seen passing comments like this a good few times, importantly though even from female members of this forum about their favourite footballer.

What I'm saying is women and it needs to be said talk this way about dream celebrities or people they fancy in a very very objectifying manner all the time, when I helped build the Etihad I won't deny that the ogling and comments relating to women blokes liked was there.

The worst place I've ever worked at for people objectifying the opposite sex though was a female dominated office and rightly nobody was offended, women make these sort of passing comments all the time and usually in my experience much more than men, usually in a far more perverted manner than men ever do if you're within ear space of them too, the dirty old women in Harry Enfield was quite funny because although absurdly played out there was an element of real truth to it.

Fair enough if you don't like the comments but proper grown women are not poor little things that need protecting from stuff like this, they'll honestly do it themselves and young girls if raised properly should always be encouraged from an early age to stand up for themselves.

This is nowt compared to the real life issues women and young girls or vulnerable people can find themselves facing, every single day from actual predators online and in real life these are comments related to human nature.

If anything it comes across more like another classic Harry Enfield sketch, the women know your limits one...

where after the video analysis is belittling a woman's intelligent views, it instead shows the woman then making a silly comment about kittens during a debate, where upon Harry's character says "what a delightful thought, you dear sweet fragile thing."
If anything your comment actually infers women are too innocent or precious, to ever be capable of this kind of behaviour or being around it and I promise you that is very far from the case.

Not you, KCS. I agree with what you said.

By all accounts City didn't want luiz to leave first time around.

Developed his game a lot at villa, so much so he got a big move to Juve. Things haven’t worked out.

This signing would be astute, won’t grab headline but would certainly make the midfield more robust.

Option to buy at end of loan is the way to go. Especially if he produces the goods. We don’t want Juve upping the price.

Would be very happy with this signing.

So would I but why would Juventus want that?

Cool thing about Luiz that I'm not sure has been mentioned: he has scored multiple goals directly from corners. He puts incredible curve on his deliveries, and since we're generally a bit shit from corners, that could be another possible weapon for the opposition to worry about.

Great point I actually forgot he does have an excellent delivery from corners and with our squad seemingly getting taller, this would potentially be a great asset for us if any loan for him works out and becomes permanent.

How good is he defensively ? Sometimes I thought he was good at Aston Villa but other times I thought he was passed to easily by attackers. How quick is he and what’s his positioning like not watch much of him

TLFA

Iv got a close friend who’s a villa fan and he’s a big fan of Luiz.
…but He did say that he’s not a holding midfielder and He’s a bit naive defensively.
Seemed to think they got the best of him once Kamara got fit as he was able to sit as the holding player while luiz got forward.

I’d take him on loan as we have nothing to lose, but I do worry he would have similar vibes to Kovacic where he’s caught ahead of the ball to often or left his position trying to press.

Any money or commitment for Luiz might strengthen Juventus’ financial situation and reduce their need to sell Cambiaso. Yet, a favourable deal with them now might make them more amenable down the line. A delicate one.
60M for Cambiaso and agree to take on Luiz until the end of season and we pick up his wages, a no brainer of a deal.

For us, perhaps, but maybe less so for Juventus.

I imagine any deal involving the clubs might go to the wire and be predicated on Juventus getting replacements/bodies in first. They might not want to be gouged by having everyone know they're suddenly flush.

100% and rightly so, but we have the cash they need so can dictate the terms in many ways.

Haaland
Savio Marmoush KDB Foden
Luiz Cambiaso
Josko Dais Akanji
Ortega

looks more mobile than now in the middle at least, not that its hard to beat etc etc (mock up XI, pick who you like)

He is not a DM
If we we are seeing him a Rodri Cover then they will be disappointed

I like him a lot. We never should’ve sold him. Will take him even on a permanent.

Calm and composed on the ball, can be a makeshift DM or a box to box alongside Rodri.

No brainer for me. Shouldn’t cost much anyways. Worse case scenario, becomes first bench option in Midfield. (Gundogan, Bernardo, Kova gone)
We couldn’t get a work permit for him so we sold him and bought Rodri.

I’m glad it panned out as it did. I’d much rather have had Rodri’s last 5 seasons than anything Luiz could have mustered.

In the end if we end up buying Luiz now, it’ll all have worked out for the best for City.

He is a very good player, he’s good enough to play while Rodri gets a rest and be much better than anything we’ve had for ages in that role in the squad, he’s defensive midfield enough to allow Rodri to play as an 8 like he did a lot of last season so they can play together n’all.

Just wanna huff on her fartbox till I pass out.

The mods step in when it goes too far.

The idea that most women are uncomfortable with men saying a woman is fit, is bonkers. They are as uncomfortable with it as men are when a bunch of women talk about how Haaland has a nice arse.

Women aren't delicate little creatures who need protection, they're normal human beings.
You don't consider the above to go too far? Most women in your life wouldn't feel uncomfortable being talked about this way? I don't know, maybe I grew up in a different environment. If you're with the lads at the pub that's fine, but this is a public forum that's supposed to be a public space and I find this sort of stuff to turn people away and that makes me somewhat sad, that's all. No judgement.

I would wait until the summer for an extra midfielder. Stick to the three signings and work with what we currently have
