Dreams That You're Glad To Wake Up From...

I'm glad if i wake up early from any nightmare , or if someone wakes me up .....

especially ones involving snakes who are just about to take a bite out of me , or if i'm nervously lookin' down over a cliff edge.

Been having this for a few years now, must have it at least once a month one of the worst dreams and feelings ive ever had.

I tend to have this dream when i am really tired. basically i will be asleep in my bed but in my dream i feel as if i am awake in my bed paralysed (as if my body has shut down but i am still concious)with people or some sort of things in my room but for some reason my vision is blurred and i can only see shadows. The worst thing about this dream is that i feel as if im about to be attacked and i try and shout for help but am not able to speak at all! to top it all of there is a loud screaching sound constantly through out the dream.

When i snap out of it i am out off breath and sweating. This apparantly only lasts for a a few minutes but in the dream it feels like a few hours.

after looking this up on the internet i have found this.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis

Apparently 1 in 6 people suffer from this.

I'm one of the 6 - its wierd cos you end up trying to be brave and think to yourself i'm going to ride it but its impossible. I have to force myself to wake up and that's the hardest part.

My missus says that I start shaking when I'm trying to force myself awake.

She is under strict instructions now to wake me up when the shaking starts!!

Forget dreams, I hate it when you are starting to fall asleep and then randomly feel like you are falling! :(

Twitches while falling asleep are called hypnagogic myoclonus, myoclonus being any sort of involuntary muscle spasm and hypnagogic referring to sleep. The twitches occur during very light sleep as the conscious brain gradually relinquishes control of the motor functions. Often they're accompanied by a sense of falling, or the feeling that something is flowing through the body, and sometimes people will experience vivid dreams or hallucinations.

-- Thu Aug 26, 2010 5:16 pm --

I've had sleepers paralysis since I was about six, used to shit me up so bad that I didn't want to go to sleep. Still feel the same if I have a load of attacks of it within the same month. But I somehow managed to discover that even though you're paralysed I can always move my toes. If you wiggle your toes about for a bit you'll snap out of it or go back to sleep for a moment and then wake up alright. I've told other people who have it to do this and they said it worked, so give it a try.

I actually hate the part when you go back to sleep when you're still paralysed, I feel like i'm going to die. I wonder if you can you go to the doctors with it?

I have had two dreams recently that have quite frankly freaked me out. The first involved me standing in a crowd in the middle of a street. It seemed as if an argument was taking place. All of a sudden, a huge explosion occurred, I turned around to see a huge tsunami of lava coming closer, eventually my body was becoming hotter and hotter, I woke up quite frightened. The second dream is more personal. Recently, my father suffered a mild heart attack. In the the dream he died of a another heart attack. My mother is distraught, futhermore, my uncle says something very offensive that leads me to pick a fight with him (which is unlike me). Both, very disturbing dreams.

I had a dream last night a Swan broke my arm! I've not even thought about a swan breaking someone's arm since I was a kid when my parents warned me about going to the local pond!
