DRINK A DRINK FOR COLIN THE KING THIS BOXING DAY

I was 19 had just bought my first season ticket after leaving school after my A levels and starting work. I will never forget the thumping in my chest when the roar went up, it was as if a jet fighter had just done a high speed low pass the shock wave just made everything vibrate and took the air from your lungs and static electricity pulsed through you. Quite simply an atmosphere never repeated.

Just realised this is my 666 post, oops.

Great description of the atmosphere for those few minutes pal.

I was an eleven year old kid so probably didn't appreciate the emotion when Colin appeared at half time but remember the noise was deafening and the team being inspired in the second half scoring four as you say.

I have often searched for footage of the game but have never been able to find any.
I can understand the lack of footage but cannot understand to lack of photographs

Proud to say i was in the Platt Lane that day , and i had heard rumours the previous day that Bell was going to play at some stage of the game , i arrived late was on the piss before the game and didnt see any team news , but when he came out for the 2nd half it was a sight i thought i would never see again Colin in a blue shirt , a truly memorable day
