Am I missing something? Why is the 43rd anniversary any more special than last year's or next year's? And I'm not being flippant; I was there, and the place went crazy when he appeared for the second half.
Suppose the fact that we are again at home to Newcastle on Boxing Day makes it more special.Am I missing something? Why is the 43rd anniversary any more special than last year's or next year's? And I'm not being flippant; I was there, and the place went crazy when he appeared for the second half.
fair point.Suppose the fact that we are again at home to Newcastle on Boxing Day makes it more special.
So sad that the etihad can’t be full to pay a proper tribute
+1. My shirt, unsigned unfortunately, was for my 65th birthday 5 years ago.My all time favourite city player. The king signed the iconic number 8 City shirt for my 50th.
God I remember those. Had the one of Colin and the other I remember vividly is Alan Ball in his arsenal kit and red boots. Suppose there was one thing he was a visionary with :)Colin the King , still have this .![]()

I remember it well - you describe it perfectly. As you know, when he makes appearances now (and I know it's rare) at half time/before kick off, he stirs up emotion in those who saw him play unlike any other player. 50 years ahead of his time - I don't need to see anything to you about how good he was - you and I and many others just know.I Remember this like it was yesterday, I've never forgotton the feeling when the whisper went round the ground, the roar of the crowd when King Colin came out of the tunnel.
For me this is the greatest atmosphere I have ever been witnessed or been involved in, and in my eyes it will never be beaten.
Bang on mate !Forget all the poncey shirts nowadays made out of recycled crisps packets, that shirt is the best shirt we've ever had. Infact make it the best kit. Those maroon trim socks are a thing of beauty.
I'll raise my glass boxing day. All the very best Colin Bell.
Yep,he signed mine for my 40th,eighteen years ago, framed in my hallway.+1. My shirt, unsigned unfortunately, was for my 65th birthday 5 years ago.
And, yes, I was there!
