Drinking Culture amongst CityPlayers

Just wondering if you think it is an issue .4 or 5 lads on day of having a few beers . or is it Profesional Sportsmen letting the Club down .?I dont think it is any worse than at other clubs and certainly a far cry away from the 70s onwards ,Italian managers are from a much different culture & just cant get there head round it

Did not see the other thread & was looking for one .new i should have gone to specsavers

Personally i see no problem with having a few beers after a game BUT Mancini is the boss and if he says no beer its quite simple - its no beer. Players that sign up for this club and take the wedge do as the manager instructs and abidesa by the clubs rules.

Alcohol is going to increase body fat which will reduce athletic performance. There is no reason for athletes to do it.

No harm was done, young men with loads of money had a few beers, so ?
It wasn`t the night before a game,it was during time off, itd probably done them good to be able to unwind

100% behind Mancini. Either pack in the drinking or your're out. Footballers should follow the example of athletes.

Me too. If yer need three days rest between fixtures as Mancini seems to think, then having a skinful will add another day. I think any MCFC player who can't 'relax' without an alcoholic drink in their hand shouldn't be getting tens of thousands a week to entertain us at the weekend. Just seen Joe Hart dive despairingly for the Wolves' equaliser. Would he have got that had he not been supping in the week?

It's the same with anything though.

If you want to be the best you can be in any career you don't harm your body (booze & fags) and you get regular sleep (and I bet there ain't too many critics who follow that righteous lifestyle), and you lead a boring lifestyle. Unfortunately it is that, boring.

Do you really believe that? There aren't many jobs where being 5% fitter/more agile makes the difference between being average and being a superstar.

And I strongly disagree that it's inevitably boring. Having the piss taken out of you by a bunch of posh students, while you perform for them, like some kind of drunken monkey isn't my idea of an exciting lifestyle.

They should leave the drinking to us professionals. We're the ones that need it after recent performances.

If they stuck to their jobs and us to ours it would be a much happier place and forum.

Ha ha, love it.

You stick to kicking the ball round that bit of grass, we'll take care of the drinking side for you (as shall be proven in Poland on Wednesday and Thursday!)

The thing that pisses me off the most is that when you reach the end of your career, you are still only around 30.

A big bank balance to get as fuct up as u like. Sat on a beech with no worrys. Why the fuk can't they see this?

FFS quit the beer, or quit football and carry on bein a pisspot. You can't have it both ways you overpayed tw@ts.

I hope Mancini lays the law down hard. And shows the players that think its ok to get smashed evry week the door

Only seems to be an issue with British & Irish players but that's the drinking culture for you.

...or indeed the example of most footballers in europe.
