Dropped points from winning positions

Sterling scored 20 Premier League goals in 1 season for City. Grealish has scored 21 Premier League goals in his whole career.

Yep. Grealish is a much better player technically than Sterling but ultimately you need players chipping in with the goals on a regular basis outside of your regular striker. It's why when people say they don't want De Bruyne or Mahrez in the team it makes no sense to me since you're then removing the player with the most assists and the player with the next biggest goal threat. These numbers do matter since they contribute to the overall bottom line of our success. It's why I was happy to overlook Sterling's faults for what he contributed in terms of goals.

For me, I want the next wide forwards we buy to have a track record of getting at least 15 goals a season. It will taken the burden off Haaland and maybe even give him more space since defenders will know they need to worry about what's coming in from the flanks and not just down the middle.

The biggest reason is that the team outside of Haaland don't score enough goals. If we're 1-0 up and need to kill a game off, we're over reliant on him to score the goals. I believe he's not far off 50% of our league goals total. 1-0 is a dangerous scoreline and you're only ever a sucker punch away from throwing the game away.

Grealish is a tidy player and I like him as a footballer but 3 league goals in his position in this team is a ridiculously low goals tally. Raheem Sterling once got 20 league goals in 33 appearances from that exact same position. It's why my personal strongest City front 3 would be Foden, Haaland and Mahrez. The front 3 then all carry at least some sort of regular goal threat.
3 league goals is piss poor. That’s a CB’s tally.

Officials have played a small part in that start along with not being clinical enough when we got chances to kill games off

Everton and Forest are the two I look at and think there is no excuse, and chuck in the dodgy United call and/or not capitulating and all of a sudden we'd be sitting 2/5 points clear on top of the table.

Everton were lucky not have a man sent off very early on (Godfrey) and were hell bent in winding up Haaland. Forest we were wasteful but again Worrall was lucky as well. The officials do play a small part.

Its pissed me off reading this blog, I'm fucking well annoyed now at where we should be
It gets worse. Of the teams we've dropped points to, four (of five) are in the bottom five of the division for points after falling behind. IE, not only are we dropping points from winning positions, but we are doing it to the teams least likely to get back into games from losing positions.
