i love the fact that the OP is called blue smarties and has started a thread about drugs...
Im quite sure that one day soon someone on here will call for a ban on breathing
I have lived what drugs can do to rip a household apart at the seams, so am very much in the 'anti' camp.
That being said, I think as a nation we need to be progressive enough to see that there isnt really a point in arresting/jailing a lad for having a bit of resin in a clingfilm wrap. Legalisation and taxing seems to be the sensible way to go. Might as well make some money off the daft cunts.
That's why I'd regulate weed, get rid of the skunk and haze strains going around. Plenty of money to be made from taxation without any great stress on the healthcare system too.I have lived in and around drugs for most of my life. I have seen the the harm they can bring to a users life. Generally though most people who do use illicit substances maintain a fairly reasonable standard of living which is no different from people who do not use drugs. It is the minority who go to far that cause the issues. The same can also be said about alcohol and gambling.
What I have seen is drug related crime causing a blight on the neighbourhood I live in. Added to that is the 10p gangsters swanning about in fancy cars and flush with money while the rest of us work hard and struggle to make ends meet. The drug issue is not going to go away, people will continue to take them whether they are illegal or not. Surely it is sensible to take profits away from the dealers and put it in the pot. Legalising them would also enable a greater quality control over what people were taking and take away a lot of risk in regards to what people are actually taking.
One thing that has struck me so far on this conversation is how people do not think weed is not a problem compared to the so called harder drugs. Believe me it is as I have seen it destroy lives. From relationship break ups to mental illness, I have seen it all and all due to smoking weed. People smoke it excessively as well. The strains going about now are far more potent than the blocks of spuddas which were being smoked in my youth.
Unfortunately mate now that the cat is out the bag in regards to smoking skunk, there is no way people will go back to smoking resin. That's why I'd regulate weed, get rid of the skunk and haze strains going around.
