Dumbest thing you have read on bluemoon?

Mancini's stewardship was great fun as a supporter.
A perfect 1st player in our transition from football tragedy to footballing triumph.
Some people believe that Pep couldn't do Mancini's job at the time any more than Mancini could do Pep's now.
It's not an opinion I agree with but I do think its an interesting conversation to have with other Blues.

It IS quite an interesting debate. My take would be that Pep is a brilliant coach who undoubtedly has sufficient ability to have taken the reins at City in the position that Roberto Mancini found us and, with the same backing that the the Italian was given, match what we actually achieved in those years, i.e. qualifying three successive times for the CL group stages, ending the 35-year trophy drought and claiming that first league title in a couple of generations.

However, it's probably moot. I don't think Pep would even have looked twice at a proposal to join City when the club was at the stage where we were when Mark Hughes left. Roberto, on the other hand, did and clearly relished the challenge. They were both perfect for what we needed when we hired them and I love them both for that.

" Rodri, couldn't turn in the Channel"

Won't reveal the author but Paul Merson would be proud of that one

Pep would’ve obviously had the managerial tactical knowledge to win us trophies back then, no doubt.

But we needed more than that as a club and a fanbase at the time, and what Mancini brought was ‘vibes’ and some arrogant swagger. No chance Pep would’ve walked up to bacon chops and tell him to shut the fuck up and sit down, Mancini did though.

No other manager has that kind of thing about him, apart from maybe Simeone or, to give him credit where it’s due, Mourinho.

Pep is the right guy now but back then we needed someone to be the figurehead of the cool new City and Roberto was the perfect man for that.

Personal choice but Pep has revolutionised the club and football in general. What people don't remember is Bobby Manc and Pellers both used the long ball tactics at times bypassing some of the greatest midfielders we'd ever seen at City.

And we’ve now got Pep Dychiola hoofing it up to the big lad - proper brexit football ;)
