We don’t know what he asked for or what the club offered so its a bit early to be slagging the guy off. He kept us in the Premiership at least one year possibly 2. So we owe him something if only our respect.
I agree.

Ok listen. These guys have the best fucking profession in the world! they play football for living and on top of it they earn 50 000 a WEEK thats pretty good paid for a job like that! and some think the club still owe a player anything? the club make it possible for them to play football and earn these kind of money.

That is the wrong level of comparison. People always look sideways to judge what kind of deal they are getting. Richard would naturally compare his pay firstly with other players at the club and then within the premier league in general, and it's by those standards that he'd judge things. That's no different to what anybody in any job does.

If we forced him out of the club! yes i would stand behind him all the way! but seriously we club wants him to stay, but he choose to leave (which is understandable because we can't offer him regular first team football) but as it looks like, i don't think the club owe him anything what so ever! if i got 50K a week i would have stayed for nine years as well especially if i had a contract!

Contractually, the club owe him nothing. But the heartbeat of a football club is not to be found in any sub clause or small print. Richard Dunne is a fully paid up member of Man City as far as I'm concerned. And that isn't something earned by that many.

The players earn enough these days, testimonials were a pay off in the old days when players earned little. I can understand Dunne trying his luck on his last transfer move. Good luck to the lad, i hope this little incident doesn't cause any bad blood between Dunne and us.

Can I ask those that are critical, would you just walk away from £1m plus that you would earn by staying in your job as opposed to moving sideways to another company?

The ones that annoy me are the ones who agitate for a move, and then still try and pocket their "loyalty" bonus. But I don't see this in the same light.

Apart frm all of that the club DO owe him something, as they AGREED to sell him while his contract was still in force, therefore breaching it, so like anyone else in that position he should get compensation. Its quite simple.
