A true City legend that stuck with us through the ever present bad times and the very few good times, Player of the year 4 years in a row, was never technically gifted but he was a tank on the pitch and gave it his all, week in, week out and everyday in training.
I beleive he wasn't forced out, a world cup year and Aston Villa are a club challenging the top 4 where he will also get played, he simply would not here.
He'll be fitter and sharper when the time comes to scrape Ireland through the world cup. :S

Good move for him and us, and good man-management as well.
Seem to recall he was thinking about leaving City when Sven left, and Hughesy asked him to stay on. Maybe got an improved contract at that time, not sure though.
Dunney wouldn't want to sit on the bench, and neither did Hughes want to strip him of the captaincy, so well handled all round I'd say.
Dunney would have realised the times were changing fast this summer, and better for him to move on rather have the captains armband taken away.
Glad we turned a profit on the transfer.
