One footed only seems to be applied to left footed players. Many players can only use their right foot and that is rarely mentioned. Some players (McTominay) are useless with both.

As a leftie myself I find it bizarre that it only applies to us.
Maybe it’s because we are the one in ten and it stands out more ?

As a fellow footballing southpaw, it is because the majority are jealous of our wonderful ability. Whoever heard of a commentator or pundit praising a player for their “sweet right foot”?
As an aside, we are really stacked with left footers in recent years. Ederson (though he is a freak of nature), Laporte, Ake, Bernardo, Foden, Mahrez, Palmer etc

While acknowledging that we're not exactly short on goals, Vlahovic offers us something different - a significant physical presence who knows where the goal is. Either he or Haaland would potentially make us unstoppable.

Well actually, you're right. There have been times this season when a top class orthodox striker would have probably made all the difference.

Strange that because I have the complete opposite perspective, that left footers are generally worse at penalties.

All of our most reliable penalty takers in recent years have been right footed.

Ha ha ! I confess I haven't studied the subject in-depth, just an impression. I think you'd have to calculate efficiency of one or the other as a percentage of the total number of penalties taken by left and right-footers. Well above my pay grade.
