Dzeko fan here. Just wanted to let you know how excited I am that Dzeko has joined Man City. Since last summer, I thought he would be a perfect fit not only for Premier league but more importantly Man City gives him the best chance to have immediate success.
If you think you've seen enough with Wolfsburg where he had very limited midfield support, wait until you see what he can do with the support of world class players to feed the monster. And as you can see, he is a very intelligent player, cool under pressure, and competitive.
In my opinion, he will be a tremendous success in the premier league whose style suits him perfectly. I am so glad he didn't go to the boring italian league although he grew up watching AC Milan during the Van Basten era, I am glad he realized that his destiny is in Man City.
An interesting fact. Like manchester, the city of Sarajevo has an old rivalry between FK Sarajevo (formed in 1945) and FK Zeljeznicar (formed in 1922). FK Sarajevo fans are more numerous (approx. 60%) but less passionate overall. They also support the hated RED colors. FK Zeljeznicar wear BLUE and have a somewhat smaller fan base (40%) but very passionate. Maybe i'm reading too much into it, but maybe Dzeko was meant to wear blue ;) Both clubs have tremendous history and success in former Yugoslavia and even played in the european league on several occasions.
I am a Zeljeznicar supporter and think it's funny that they sold what will be the greatest striker to come out of Bosnia in its history for only 50k euros. He still has a lot of work to do but we should sit back and enjoy the work of a living legend in the making. Maybe he will even eclipse the accomplishments of Sarajevo's Safet Susic who was probably the best ever until Dzeko came along. However, back then it was difficult for eastern european players to transfer and play in big international leagues especially in the 1970s and early 1980s.
Anyway, I can't wait for the first match against the Wolves. Like everyone else, the Dzeko signing has given me an excuse to follow Man City and want to see them succeed. I hope Mancini opts for the 4-4-2 formation with Dzeko and Tevez up front.
