Dzeko to Dortmund

He's not a bad player, far from brilliant,or even close to justifying the price tag,but decent none the less.

A poorly judged signing who has never really fit.

If we can get 20m,along with the Mario money, summer, depending on who is doing the spending...... should hopefully be fruitful.

Best wishes but i really hope it happens.

Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko could be set for a switch back to the Bundesliga after fresh reports of a move to Borussia Dortmund.

Dzeko is enjoying a decent season for the Blues with 13 goals, but is still usually third in the pecking order behind Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez.

Rumours about Dzeko moving to Dortmund have been rumbling for a few weeks but on Thursday morning respected German football journalist Raphael Honigstein tweeted: "Edin Dzeko to Borussia Dortmund is "all but done", I was told.

"Dortmund officials negotiated with Man City at QPR game in London."

Dortmund themselves have played down talk of a move, while Dzeko has said he would like to return to the Bundesliga at some point.

City bought Dzeko from Wolfsburg in January 2011 for £27m.

City are shaping up for a summer shake-up with new CEO Ferran Soriano and director of football Txiki Begiristain masterminding summer recruitment

I have to say i like Dzeko, he changed the game against Villa and probably should of got a goal, he might have his faults but this season you can't deny him getting the goals, something our other strikers have failed miserably at. The only striker we have is him because he just keeps scoring and Sergio because he looks sharp every game but he just isn't getting the goals.

Don't forget his goal per game ratio is better than Rooneys, Agueros, Tevez.... I think we are seriously going to struggle without the goals he does add to this team, remember QPR last year? Surely 45 goals in 59 games isn't bad?

@honigstein: one word of caution: Dzeko to Bayern was also almost done last year, before too many agents asked for too much commission

Interesting.

Quite sad if true, I wouldn't be surprised if we do not have a replacement lined up either. Can see another summer window cock-up coming up.

Can't be doing with a player that doesn't use his height and strength to his advantage. We saw that in the Villa game Monday night the contrast between Benteke and Dzeko trying to bully defenders.
