Dzeko, what's his next move?

i was his number 1 fan when he first came.............now, after watching his body language last season, he can fook off. i dont give a shite if bobby peed him off, squad rotation is the norm at most big clubs.
he cant play football, his dribbling, passing, running with ball skills are zero........yet he can bag goals in the 6yd box. either we play him goalhanging there and accomodate long balls into him, or he becomes a liability. for me, he simply aint good enough. at best a bench warmer for fa cup and carling cup........thanks edin, but no thanks....move on

I don't know someone informed me the other day and I haven't checked it out that Barca have a world class squad of 18 players the rest made up of academy players. I know I know their Academy players are probably classed as world class by everyone, but that is what they have and I believe Pellegrini and the spanish duo want a similar set up, why else spend all the money on the academy if it ain't going to supply the first team with players. So why not reduce the squad size to that of 1st eleven, plus subs and pay them top dollar but free up the rest of the squad by home produced players. That way the elite players are always involved with first team and it give youth a chance.

In CL, Prem league I believe we won't rotate that much and it will be best eleven every week subject to injury suspension or giving the odd player a breather, possibly early rounds of FA cup and COC maybe the academy players will get a look in.

Until this window finishes we really haven't got a clue how our squad will look and it is the big picture that counts and we shouldn't get hung up on the odd player who we all seem to think isn't a world beater.

Two issues I have with this are - Barca's lack of squad depth has actually hurt them at times, especially when they had injuries to defenders and ended up playing midfielders there. And also, we have one extra competition in England (the League Cup) and there are considerably less 'easy' league games so it can be more demanding. You can't easily rest players for Stoke or Sunderland away like you can Zaragoza and Valladolid away.

But the contrary argument would be that with a squad of 25 quality players if all are fit 8 of them are sitting in the stands being paid vast sums of money. I know there could be a happy medium, but with the way the speculation is presenting itself with the likes of Barry, Lescott, Kolorov, Maicon and Sinclair out the door with only potentially a couple more incoming we may have a smaller squad than last year and I just pose the alternative of the Barca model maybe is something we are heading towards.

Since Atletico also want him, we can cash on him if we get around 22-24...but thn theres no apparant upgrade avaliable

recent update on tevez replacement:
Osvaldo continues Man City talks
<a class="postlink" href="http://www.football-italia.net/36133/osvaldo-continues-man-city-talks" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.football-italia.net/36133/os ... city-talks</a>
According to several different sources in Italy and England, Roma are holding regular talks with Manchester City to discuss a move.
e had also been linked with Tottenham in recent weeks, but City see him as an alternative to Sevilla’s Alvaro Negredo.

Just checked out Dzeko's stats against Cavani's - Internationally they've both played 54 games, however Edin's scored 29 against Cavani's 17! Personally I stopped wanting Cavani at our club after watching the Confed cup - it may have only been a small glimpse of him as a player, but he was awful and apparently in the last three competitive tournaments for his country has only scored 2 goals - they never even played him against Tahiti!
He may have been a goal machine for Napoli, but we've seen with Schevchenko a few years ago that being prolific in Seria A is no guarantee that you'll score a hatful in the Premier League.
I genuinely think Edin is the better player, and would possibly eclipse Cavani's record at Napoli if he were to go there - however I think he'll flourish under Pellegrini, so hopefully he stays.
However if Napoli want him, based on everything above, i'd price him at £1 million more than they get for Cavani... and fuck 'em!!!

They play him left internationally. Never plays as well out there. Can't base anything on his international play.

I guess rotation is imp...When u have carling cup/EPL/FA cup/Champions league...we need to give our bench team opportunity .....Mancini did well by playing Pantilimon and giving reikik and daniel a go..I think he did encouraged youngsters like Matija Nastasić ....EPL and champions league we will definitely go with best team....but we should rotate in carling n FA cup..

And then fucked him over in the final. Classy move Bobby.
I wouldn't go out and say Edin is the better player, but Cavani sure looks like a system player to me. Napoli fits him like a glove. I don't think he'd be half the player he is at Napoli if we got him. Personally, I'd go for an attacking wide midfielder instead of a striker. The only available striker who can guarantee an improvement in attack is Suarez (but I don.t like him as a person).

In my opinion, City's next purchase should be one of the following:

Pedro Rodriquez, Christian Tello, Jose Callejon, Angel Di Maria, and Erik Lamela.

1 of the above 5 will be available.
The addition of Isco makes one of Callejon or DI Maria expendable.

The addition of Neymar, makes one of Rodriquez or Tello expendable. Granted it is more likely the case that (Villa and Sanchez will be sold), but with Deufoleu already knocking on the door and Neymar in, I believe one of Pedro or Tello could be picked off.

Fire-sale at Roma makes Lamela a curious opportunity. Forget strikers, get another attacking wide mid with speed and a goal scoring history, and we'd double our improvement.

Napoli seem to want Dzeko,
So, if Cavani is worth £53m then Dzeko is worth £35m I reckon.

Atletico Madrid make offer for Man City forward Dzeko
07 July 2013 - 07:37 UK, by Ketan Patel

Atletico Madrid have lodged a 24 million Euro bid for Bosnian international Edin Dzeko. The Manchester City forward has been told that he is not a guaranteed part of the first team under new manager, Manuel Pellegrini.

Since Atletico Madrid have sold Radamel Falcao to Monaco this summer already, the Spanish side are scouring the world to find a new striking acquisition. They have been alerted to the availability of the former Wolfsburg striker and have already made sent an offer to City representatives.

Man City are close to securing a deal that will bring Alvaro Negredo in from Sevilla, as an instant replacement for the tall forward.

Atletico Madrid are not the only team interested in the striker though, as there is also some interest from Borussia Dortmund as well as Italian side Inter Milan.
