Roma are reportedly in pole position to sign Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah, but talks for Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko are not progressing.

Rumours about Salah’s departure from London were confirmed yesterday whenBlues boss Jose Mourinho said ‘I see his future elsewhere.’

Today Tuttosport have reported that the Giallorossi are now frontrunners to land the Egyptian on loan with an obligation to buy for €20m plus €5m bonuses, to be paid in instalments.

However, the newspaper believes that Lupi target Dzeko is still distant from making a move to the capital.

Roma’s offer for the Bosnian has reportedly risen to €15m plus €5m of bonuses, but the Citizens are continuing to demand €28m for the striker.

In addition, it’s believed that the Giallorossi’s desire to split the €20m total over three or four years is another factor that is putting off City sporting director Txiki Begiristain.

Please don't sell him to another premiership club.
If he goes it must be off these shores.

£12.5m from Roma over 4 years or £16m from Arsenal? This isn't the bloody Asda footballer smart price range you know, cheapskates.

Peanuts from the Italians or give him to a potential title rival? Can see this going down the loan route, likely with Roma trying to get out of it 11 months in to avoid paying a permanent fee.

I honestly don't think we can fit in Wilshire now, but getting him into the deal is probably worth a question, but Dzeko to Arsenal alongside the fact they now have a goalkeeper who doesn't just uses his hands for arse scratching, does increase their top 2 hopes significantly. Unless Dzeko's comments about Wolfsburg the other day mean that he's not opposed to heading back there? But I think he'd see it as a backwards step.

Where are Spurs with a £25m panic bid when you need them...

This is why Txiki is good at his job and fans aren't.

He won't blink unless he gets the right fee.
