Roma close on €22m Dzeko deal

Roma are closer than ever to agreeing terms with Manchester City for Edin Dzeko at €22m (£15.4m).

Even English papers now confirm Dzeko is desperate for this move and agreed personal terms some time ago, which Italian sources have been saying for weeks.

Now La Gazzetta dello Sport claims the two clubs are finally close to finding common ground on a transfer fee.

Manchester City are lowering their initial €30m demand for the 29-year-old to €24m (split into €18m plus €6m in bonuses).

The Giallorossi are prepared to raise their bid to €20m plus €2m bonuses to seal the deal at €22m.

I am sorry to see Edin go but at 29 and us wanting to refresh the squad i guess it was inevitable. I will always remember him fondly for scoring some vital goals,none more so than our last title winning season when every man jack and his dog seemed to be injured,Edin stepped up to the plate and his goals kept us in there and got us over the line.

A frustrating and moody player at times he and his goals more than paid his fee and helped us to win our recent batch of trophies. Good luck wherever you go Edin and thanks for the memories!
