city really should listen to all the specialist transfer negotiators on here .

who gives a fuck. we aren't stupid or being bent over, we have people who know exactly what they are doing ,and doing it for the betterment of the club,

+1,000,000

There can't be but a handful of clubs worldwide who you could get Dzeko to agree to go to and who need a striker and who could even get close to paying his wage. And who need a central striker who plays one specific way for that matter.

Plus the finances of Italian clubs (and their economy as a whole) are just a disaster of ungodly magnitude.

Plus everyone knows we need to unload him.

Factoring all this in, is it possible to say one way or another whether we got a good deal? If you know what the fuck you are talking about as far as negotiating football contracts then maybe so. But that would pretty much exclude 100% of posters here.

I do wonder how this one has taken so long to tie up to be honest.

Roma: we want him for free.
City: £20m
Roma: no, free.
City: £15m
Roma: no, free.
City: £10m?
Roma: f r e e
City: ok, free.

We should try it with De Bruyne. Just keep faxing the word free everytime they quote £50m.

We really do find it very difficult to get good value on players we want rid of, Negredo excluded. I wouldn't be confident we'd get what we wanted if heaven forbid that Sergio was ever sold.

Because everybody knows we want to get rid of the players we sell. Im still amazed how we managed to get £13m for Garcia, or £10m + £3m for Rodwell...

I'll raise your +1,000,000 by +1

I see all the usual suspects have raised their heads too.

We're not as bad as some are making out, these deals and Negredo were decent deals to be fair.

As I said the real importance was getting two biggish wages (Dzeko and Jovetic) off the books to be able to strengthen the squad.

Why the fuck can't we find people who can actually pay for, and buy, our players? Unless, like with Negredo, the deal is set in stone, no way to get out of it, then there's the chance the player returns to City. This looks very much the case for Dzeko and Jovetic. Look at the official site wording:-

Edin Dzeko has joined Roma on a season-long deal with a view to a permanent transfer if certain conditions are met.

There's absolutely nothing set in stone about that statement, it's very much an IF.

Given Dzeko's career goals record, and Jovetic's potential combined with age, we really should be able to sell these kind of players.
