Class statement from a good servant to the club. Too bad City, and the technical level of individual players, has moved past where the manager and his staff felt Edin had, or could, reach.

My best to him for all that he did for my beloved club. I wish him well in his new adventure in Rome, with his friend.

Nice sentiments from Edin - I think the move to playing one up front spelled the end for him. I also think he will really enjoy Rome and do well in Seria A.which should ensure that we get a decent fee. 4.5 years at any club is deemed a decent stay these days, now we move on.

It impacts our ability to buy other players, of course it matters.

Clearly it doesn't matter that much or else we wouldn't be selling him for pittance. There were no other interested parties as far as I can see so we had no choice if we wanted rid.

I am surprised clubs like Spurs etc were not interested at this price.

We're stronger than almost all of their teams and therefore they can choose from a far greater pool of players down the talent pyramid than we can, meaning they are in a far stronger negotiating position than us.

Nice touch from Dzeko, hope it works out well for him at Roma. Can't believe it's another loan with obligation to buy deal though. Italian clubs properly take the piss.
