E-Cig Ban, Why Can't MCFC stand up and be counted

This habit of sidetracking onto the alcohol route is totally fallacious. Almost everyone who smokes is addicted whereas alcoholism only strikes a tiny minority of drinkers .
" yeah , but look at all the tax we smokers pay into the NHS " , well we need those taxes to cover the cost of treatment of smoking related illnesses, of which there are many .
Somebody said on this thread that nicotine is on a par with caffeine , well if I were you I'd go and look up some toxicology reports , quite scary !
And anyway , it's surely the council , not City who are responsible for the ban .

Nicotine is on a par with Caffeine. That's proven. I suspect you are referring to the hundreds of other toxins in cigarettes that aren't present in the vapour inhaled when using an ecig.

One thing I can't quite fathom out. If these e-cigs are healthier than normal fags, cost about the same (or maybe a bit cheaper?) then why don't all smokers switch?

Two different things really. Both deliver nicotine and granted there are similarities. But why do some alcoholics drink cheap cider and some drink more expensive vodka or whiskey. Personal preference.

Just out of curiosity OP..how long have you been vaping for?

I was heavily addicted to cigs but that has waned over the year I've been on e juice alone

I vape 24mg..so find I can go longer without using it

If you're vaping any lower than that you might want to up the nicotine

You might find you can get through the match a lot easier

I smoked 40 a day for 30 years, have been vaping for nearly six months and use 16 - 18 mg, and to be fair, haven't touched a cig or even wanted one throughout that time, but it isn't about whether or not I can go for 90 minutes without vaping, it's about why I should have to when it doesn't in any way (other than by it's misinterpreted association to smoking) impact on anybody else, this banning culture is just getting worse by the day and unlike years ago ones liberties could not be taken away without serious evidence, nowadays it's just done and accepted, seemingly without those effected being able to raise any issue or challenge it?

Unfortunately your point doesn't hold water. You seem to be working on the principle that your e-fag isn't affecting anybody else and this is wrong.
Stadium staff have to check out your smoke to make sure it's not the nasty sort that kills babies that come within ten feet of it kind. They get in peoples way.
Others around you may be proper, no fucking about, smokers who are driven crazy by you pretending to smoke whilst they have to chew their nails for 90.
And them e-cigs stink like lilly of the valley to those of us with a delicate nose.

Personally i couldn't give two hoots if everyone in the ground smoked, and i think rules are there to be broken but your actions do affect others

But they're the same price aren't they? I have no idea of the price of cigarettes (5p each when I was at school) and am only going off what a relative has said.

Not at all. Ecigs are a fraction of the cost. Maybe half or even a bit less. You can get your nicotine in many different flavours as well. There aren't many flavours you can't get whereas a convential cig is on the whole tobacco or menthol

There's the answer then. Make cigs illegal, tax up the e-cigs to the same price and let anyone use them anywhere. Everyone's a winner.

50 - 60 mg of nicotine will kill a 160 lb human - it would take 10,000 mg of caffeine to do the same!
