Bang the fook on.

E cigs are not curing your addiction, just prolonging it through other means. If you were out on a night out and forgot your E cig, you will be bumming fags off people after the first pint, coz you are still addicted. You haven't given up smoking at all.

Best thing to do is go cold turkey for six weeks. After that it's a breeze. No E cigs or nothing holding you down. It's all about the will power. Change your old routines, knock drinking on the head for abit, avoid the fag break crowd at work. You will be better for it.

Completely fucking missing the point

I have not chosen e-cigs to give up...I have chosen them to carry on

It is just a different nicotine delivery system...and a much healthier one

Nicotine in itself is no more harmful to you than caffeine

Do you give shit to people who have a latte in the morning?

No

People need to rethink their attitude to nicotine...it is not the killer...the killer is inhaling toxic smoke into your lungs

Uneducated misinformation like this is damaging

What a load of old tosh. What sort of oddball WANTS to be addicted to nicotine? Did you put that on your new years resolutions?

*Join a Gym
*Learn Spanish
*Spend hundreds of pounds on E cigs so that I can become addicted to nicotine?

You're only fooling yourself. And when that e cig runs out you will be crashing real cigarettes off your mates within an hour. I know, because I've been there. I smoked for 20 years, and used the e cigs for 12 months. They did nothing but fool me into thinking I'd given up. You haven't.

You don't give up..... You switch, you should also buy a pack with two e cigs this way you should never be caught short, yes it takes a bit more planning but the benefits are huge

361 days since I last had cigarette. I have no intention or craving to ever smoke a real cigarette ever again

Put it this way, they don't improve your life in anyway.

Ecigs have changed my life.

My lung capacity has increased
My blood pressure is back to normal - I no longer need to take tablets to control it.
I generally feel fitter and healthier
I have saved a fortune (paid for my season ticket)
I've not had a cough/cold over winter for the first time in about 20 years.
So I think they have improved my life.

I am still addicted to nicotine, but I would not feel the need to bum/buy cigs if my ecig packed up. I reckon I would throw up.

Whilst I am controlling the amount of nicotine delivered and gradually decreasing the nicotine strength, for now I'm more than happy to look a plonker sucking on my ecig.
Yes I have tried to stop smoking through different ways over the years and nothing worked. Ecigs did.

You're talking to someone who smoked for 20 years, and used e cigs for a year.

I get all of that. And it's great. But it didn't cure my smoking addiction, it just relocated it to another vehicle. And I was pleased with myself and telling everyone how great I was for giving up the cigs, but I was still 100% addicted. It was only when I stopped buying the e-cigs that I really gave up smoking. And I felt rather foolish for being taken in by it. Did the e-cigs help me give up? Probably not, and whenever I was on a night out with my mates or had a tough day at work I would be smoking the real things again.

Cold turkey for two weeks. After six you won't even remember you smoked.

Well you're talking to plenty of people who have smoked for just as long, or longer, 42yrs in my case, tried everything to give up, including cold turkey, nothing worked, these things do, for me.

Can't understand why you feel the need to be so dismissive when plenty of us are clearly feeling the benefits of these things. So it didn't work for you, clearly you're weak willed like the rest of us, then you found another way to do it, worked so far then, hope you manage to keep going when you get stressed or when out for a beer.
Maybe next year you'll be spouting about how cold turkey is for fools.

Smoking is the vice, tobacco is the evil, e-cigs allow us to cut out the evil and enjoy the habit, my intention is to eventually sack the ecigs, no rush though, got at least a couple of years before it may become a problem.

Good on you mate, does she know you've got it, or are you planning a cool approach by just sitting down and toking on it with no mention?

Spending that £40 will be the best thing you did this year.

The miserable wench probably won't even notice as she will have her fat head stuck in the telly watching shitty soaps, fcuk her, can't live with em, can't kill em!

My boy FTG sorted me out a full kit today. Came with a rather natty MCFC thing to hang round my neck too. Good lad he is.

Having my last night of fags only as i charge my batteries and then im giving it a go.

They usually come almost fully charged, you could probably start now while the other one charges. It'll be done in less than 2 hours then charge the one you were using even if it isn't "empty". Type of battery they are means you don't need to fully charge or drain them (so I read and it hasn't done mine any harm. Still using one as a spare from almost a year ago.)

Unless you just want to enjoy those last few cigs!
