E-cig's

Got my Mrs one the other day, the guy in the shop said nicotine was in the same category of drug as caffeine.
Even though ive given up - i did it cold turkey on jan 1st and not had one since, I'm very tempted to get one and just use the nicotine free liquid, just in the evening to chill, knowing its doing no harm. But i also think its a daft idea...

Haha my 4 batteries and all tanks I've used in the past 10 months altogether probably comes to less than £200!! The cost for me has come from juice, especially when I used to buy 10ml for a 5er, but it's still no contest vs smoking, that was £30 a week easily, probably more. Cheers for the links, might see you in the Lass sometime :)

He's right..nicotine on its own is no more hazardous to your health than caffeine

It's all the other combustible chemicals in the cigarette smoke that kills you

Have any of you lot ever tried vaping anything else but the liquid. You see getting past the nicotine addiction has never been my problem. My problem has always been i actually miss the act of smoking that's what always cracks me. Eventually i want to give up the nicotine to but i don't want to pay money out for nicotine free liquid (they're taking the piss with that).

So can i put water in my ecig or something similar in my ecig and just vap that ????

Also I'm using roughly 3mg @ 18mg strength a day. Am i going over the top vapping that much or am i vapping very little ???

Buying VG/PG in bulk and mixing your own (It's not as difficult as you might think if you're not using Nicotine)

It would literally cost peanuts

-- Wed Jun 12, 2013 8:37 am --

I use around 2ml...maybe a little less a day at 24mg strength which is about the same equivelent

Does anyone else find that they are more addicted to these than cigs? Mine's like a lollipop, can't leave it alone, lol. Golden Virginia is my favourite up to now.

Been on the e-cig since April 22nd and feel quite proud of myself seeing as I thought I'd never stop. Didn't think much of the atomizers though, and went through 4 in 6 weeks. Didn't feel like I was getting a "hit" off them somehow. One minute they worked, next they didn't and I found it frustrating. I changed to an Ismoka cartomizer last week for £14.99 which includes 3 coils. 1 x 1.8ohms, 2.2ohms and 2.5ohms. They heat the liquid up from the bottom instead of the side. Each coil is supposed to last around 4 weeks like the atomizers are supposed to do and these are all you replace so should work out cheaper. The coil heads are £9.99 for a pack of 5(?) I think from the shop, although their website is dearer. Find these loads better and up to now have had no problems. The only thing is they burn the liquid faster than a normal atomizer, but at least you get a decent hit from them.

The shop (Smoke Electronic Cigarettes) is on Manchester Road, Droylsden, opposite Edge Lane tram stop.

I do that too pmsl, my brother noticed it about 3 months in he goes "you've never got that thing out of your mouth", told him, "better than smoking"...

I've tried those that you can unscrew and change the head on, and it leaked. "Must be tighter" I thought, so I screwed it on so tight that it killed a battery! It was good before that though, but they don't last as long either, where I get 3-4 weeks out of a normal clearo I only got a few days out of the replacement head. For a decent hit the best thing I've used is the variable voltage twist batteries, I paid £20 for a single battery and charliebigspuds has full VV kits with 2 batteries, charger and 2 clearos for £35, tap him up.

The ohm resistance of the coils doesn't matter so much when you can change the voltage of the battery. I use, with a normal 1.8ohm clearomiser, voltage about 4.1. Regular ego batteries are normally about 3.3V.

Clearos are about £3 each if you buy a few of them at the same time online (or off chaz). They do give up in the end though, when I first bought one the bloke in the shop said fill it with water, shake it up and it cleans it, still only lasted another few days though and you notice it when you put a new one on. I've got about 25 old ones at home!

I was looking at those voltage twist batteries myself, so if this ismoka fails my expectations I might just dabble with one. Don't want to get too carried away on testing everything out though because the whole idea of this is to save money as well as for health reasons.

Mine leaked on the first day, but I think it might've been my own fault. When I refill it I unscrew it from the battery first then take off the mouthpiece. I then turn it upside down and unscrew the heating attachment and refill the cartomizer on a slight tilt making sure no liquid goes down the tube. I usually wash the cartomizer both ends under hot water and blow out any excess first. I wipe aound the coil with a bit of tissue, then refit it screwing it on tightly. Then I wipe around the battery end and the mouthpiece end of the cartomizer for any excess liquid that might've seeped through. I then refit it to the battery, but this shouldn't be screwed on too tight hence why you killed your battery. I also wash out the mouthpiece before refitting. Not had any leakage since and I'll be pissed off if these only last a few days like the atomisers did.

The only downfall is it is drinking the liquid compared to those atomizers that I was using before but at least now I'm getting a good toke, lol. ;-)
