Very obscure source ...... David Lloyd ( Bumble) was in a Twitter conversation and someone mentioned it to him as he had mentioned he loved the show and someone else also said in the same conversation that he had heard it was being written ..... not the best source I know ( 2 people talking to Bumble) but I will grasp at anything in hope to see the show return even as a one off .... if you could ask Ken if he was indeed opening the pub that would be great as it would either confirm it or put the rumours to bed ....the original pub is not there now....it is a real estate office or something in Chorlton ?

I heard there was a series 3 script in existence through a friend of a friend etc but as key production staff moved on to other projects, it badly hindered the third series being commissioned.

Maybe the one off is bits taken from this. Better than nothing, a GREAT sitcom!

Dave, I couldn't agree more. Two fantastic programs, but unfortunately The Royle Family was ruined. You just know everyone involved in the last few programs must be embarrassed at what they've done to a true classic.

Don't spoil Early Doors! If you cant do it justice, dont bother.

What makes this show is the fact that for everybody who watches it and loves it we can all see ourselves early doors in a Manchester boozer nipping in for a pint on the way home............ fond memories of the Crown on Long Street Middleton late 80's early 90's for me ahhhhhhh Early Doors.......................
