Early Doors TV Show

The opening of series 2 was genius, starts with a caption on screen saying Previously on early doors, there's just Ken and Old Tommy in the pub, Tommy's sat is sat in his usual spot supping his pint and Ken is behind the bar, here's the dialogue

Ken " Do you want a crisp Tommy"
Tommy " No"
Then the opening titles start, also as I'm sure most of you know John Henshaw is a proper Blue.

Opening was good but the direction was a bit dodgy, focused far too much on Craig Cash. If you rewatch and then think about how much of the episode featured an extreme close shot of his face alone, even in situations that didn't require it, you'll see it.

Craig Cash directed that episode so that's probably why Damocles

Craig Cash is well past it now, have you seen the new Royle Familys? They have music over the top of them for fucks sake, fades into other scenes and scenes like sketch shows. It used to just be them sat on a couch and it was quality.
I can see a new early doors being the same, the characters becoming well over the top and it just being ruined. It like it, like it enough to know to leave it alone

Most of the best British sit coms only ran for two series. Fawlty Towers, The Office, The Young ones, Extras.

And some very good ones were ruined by dragging them out for years past their sell by date. Only Fools and Horses. The Royle Family.

Leave it alone would be my wish. I'm sure new episodes would only end in disappointment.

Did someone say it was filmed in a pub in Chorlton? I didn't recognize it and know all the pubs round there better than is probably healthy for you.

It was filmed at Granada Studios - if you watch the DVD with the commentary on, they talk about it a few times.
