Early doors

the humour in early doors , not everybody would get

Yet humour like Mr Bean is accessible and to be enjoyed by everyone. You don't even need to speak English to understand the struggles he has with everyday things in life. It's perfect in its execution and great fun.

Early Doors didn't receive the widespread critical acclaim and mainstream following because it was too niche. One suspects that was a deliberate aim of theirs.

One man's meat, I rank it right up there, had the lot, funny as & humbling sadness, there was set to be a third series, but it was Cash who apparently pulled the plug...

& yep, if you've not seen "Sunshine" then do...

Bring back "early doors".

Sunshine was absolutely brilliant, Coogan at his very finest.

If any BM'ers haven't seen this mini-series I highly recommend that you do.

I think it had it's moments, but for me, I think John Cleese is viewed through rose tinted goggles a bit. Personally, I don't think he's ever done anything of note beyond the Python films. Since then, he seems to have spent most of his time sucking up to the yanks whilst never varying beyond the same sort of character; middle to upper class downtrodden snob.

Ditto Michael Palin, although I will say that Ripping Yarns was a better effort than Flowery Twats...(the opening credits with the mis-spelled sign was funny, one of the highlights for me)

I wish Graham Chapman was still alive.
